Any good garages/SX specialists about?

Following on from my thread in S13 tech, I've come to the end of my limited knowledge, and could really do with having someone who knows what they're doing having a look over my car to see why its not behaving itself :(

I obviously dont want to take it to any old garage, and as I'm new to this area, I have no idea of good garages etc. Or if anyone on here wouldn't mind taking a look some weekend, there will obviously be money available.

My main problems are
1): Light tinny rattle around 5.5k rpm (possibly det, but I dont have timing gun, and it was set by Jez when I had St2 chip fitted)
2) Over fueling (lots of black smoke)
3) Bogging down when overfueling and not making boost, especially after gearchanges

So if anyone reckons they can fix it, then all the bettter. Or if anyone knows of anywhere around the South/South West that is agood, then please let me know.

Since I moved to this area, I was recommended to take my car to David at DJP Motors in Starcross (10 miles from Exeter) He is an import specialist and loves his jap cars.

The work he has done for me has been fantastic and goes out of his way to help people (see 8pm rescue for other half then there till 9 fixing her car) I can't recommend him highly enough but you don't say where you are so it may be too far?

I live in Lyme Regis, and there aren't any air leaks I can find :(

It is indeed an HD st2 chip

I think Exeter is only about 20 odd miles, so fingers crossed he's 10 miles closer this way :D Off to google him now :thumbs:

i love lyme regis, used to want to be a palaeontologist when i was younger. sorry off topic. heard good things from teggers about that place. the smoke sounds like an air leak (as with the bogging down ) i recently popped a hose under the inlet plenum (little 1" diameter black ones) may be a split in one of those:nod: if you get stuck i have some spare hose if you want it (free)

Unfortunately he's 10 miles the other side for you! I work just outside Sidmouth if you want to pop in for a chat and a coffee - about 20 mins from Lyme Regis!

If it turns out to be more than an air leak, I'll give him a bell. The other place that was recommened in the South section is over the other side of Chichester, and I really cant be arsed with driving that far (although they are mega recommended)
