A boating trip called SX@C, do you see what I did there? ;) :D
I'll get my coat...
Evilchap aka Ben has kindly offered to take us out on his lovely yacht for a day :notworthy to go sailing around the Solent.
It was a cracking day last time and everyone had a great time. Photos here (http://www.sxoc.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=282782&highlight=sailing+trip+photos)
Date: Sunday 24th June
Location: Southampton - the exact location will be PM'd to people ;)
Time: 9am
Food: I'll look into using club funds to provide some snack-type grub :sxoc:
You'll need to wear non-marking, grippy shoes. Clothing is weather dependant but even is it's hot, a fleece is good because it gets windy sailing into the wind (funny that!). Sunglasses and suncream are highly recommended
List
1 Arry + Mrs Arry
2 RohanC
3 Chris B + Mrs B
4 Yakko
5 Paradigm Shift

As my parents live near you... I happen to know it's not too far to come this way, so are you just commenting or are you wanting to come boating? ;)

Ooooo, me please! I think my misses will be up for it as well, but ill double check :)
Really liked the sound of this last time...
I'll check with Mrs B when she has finished in the shower, don't think we are upto anything that day :)

If you could try and arrive around 0900 it would be handy chaps :)
Coolio, Paz and I will be there :D
Really looking forward to it
Top offer from Evilchap
Looking forward to it
As a trainee boat builder I should probably make an effort to attend and have a nosey around, but its my old dears birthday that day :(
Looks ike a very nice boat though, so I'll be up for another if there is one :)
Chris, you and Paz are added
Meeting time of 9am has been added to the first post.
Suggestions/requests for food would be handy or I'll just buy random stuff :)

ok put yakko and i down, we'll sort something out!
You're on the list
I'm going to check with Evilchap about numbers as I don't want to overfill the boat. I'll open the list back up if we can take more.
I don't want to overcrowd things as we need space to move about etc plus everyone will want to take part in working the boat so they'll be more to do :)
Ah man, everyone is taking their other halves.... and i'm going with Joe!
:wack:
(Sometimes I wish Mrs Yakko didn't hate boats so much!)
Thanks for opening your boat/home up to the club again Evilchap, it's muchos appreciated.

I'm the bitch?!
Am I choosing all the food for the day then? ;)
I'll see if we can organise some Thai food...
I would like some fruit, pasta and chicken, that fits in with my new diet for this season :)
:ghey: You can have jaffa cakes or crisps or both :D
Jaffa cakes will power me into the 11's :D
We had Jaffa Cakes on the boat today. I think they helped us sail faster but I can't confirm it ;)
Would anyone else be interested in coming?
What sort of time will we be back?

Should be back around dinner time :)
Sadly Algie's had to drop out so there's two more spaces available. Get your name down quick as these will go soon!
As it's short notice, people who enjoyed the first trip can stick their name down for a guaranteed space :)
in for both spaces please, me and the missus :)
Just checking, what time should we be back on shore? I'd need to get the missus back for 6:30 you see.....
Evilchap

That shouldn't be a problem :)
Awesome, cheers for this - look forward to meeting you on Sunday :)
Just checking, what time should we be back on shore? I'd need to get the missus back for 6:30 you see.....
Is that 6:30 in Essex? How long will it take to get back?
Chloe and I aren't going to be able to make it this time either :( So there's another 2 places if anyone's interested
Thought Arry was in Kent these days?
Sorry to hear that Juz :(
Chicken Satay sticks anyone? :D

To Sidcup, spose I'd best have 2 hours just to be safe...

:(
Arry, you're on the list.
Chris, I'll keep my eye out for them ;)
So that'll be alright then yarr? Coolio.
Right, I'm up :wack: Almost ready to leave..
Right, I'm up :wack: Almost ready to leave..
Likewise.
Well, got back alright - despite a little "incident" on the M25 involving part throttle, some really shitty tyres, lots of torque and pouring rain - let's just say 4th gear never got that interesting before :wack:
A big, big thanks to Evilchap :notworthy for taking us out and putting up with our pretty lame efforts to crew a sail boat :D
A big thanks to Parker for organising it, although why he couldn't arrange it for when the weather wasn't atrocious who knows eh? :wack:
A big thanks to the Red Arrows :notworthy for their special SXOC dedicated flyby, once past without the smoke going, once past with :D
Really good to see everyone - here's my very limited selection of photos from the day
Chris B seems to have been slipped a sly grope by Yakko whilst doing the washing up

Cheers everyone :)
Thanks to Ben as always for the use of his fine boat. The day came to a sad end when some scum on bikes broke into his car and robbed his sat nav, minutes after Chris B left (he's not a suspect...
On a brighter note it was a fun day despite the weather being a pain.
The Red Arrows are fast becoming a South area event trademark even though I did have to call them back for a second flypass because they forgot the smoke first time around, Amateurs!
Here's my photos from the day

There's already talk of another trip when we've recovered from JAE and I'll try harder with the weather next time...

Back on the dry stuff - moments after Chris B nearly slipped off the other side of the jetty :D
It was an elegant dis-mount :D
Many thanks to Ben for taking us out on his 45ft home :sxoc: Apologies for being so rubbish and not doing your sails any favours :o
Was a good fun day despite the weather
Good to see everyone. Good to meet a few new faces :)
Really sorry to hear about Ben's car window and stolen gear, if only we had seen them near the car... :(

Car now has new door :) Shame it's a bit ruined, but hopefully back to Charlies garage and a glass swap and job done! wohoo.
I promise to be happier and more fun next time we get you guys out boating. I was rather tired and the weather was soooo not helping!
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for the grinding skills ;)
Ben

Good to meet Rick, Joe & Mr & Mrs Arry too.
Crap, was there someone there called Rick? Whoever you are, apologies for getting your name wrong, I don't know what I was calling you, but it certainly wasn't Rick. :(

If anyones fancies racing the yacht on Saturday, speak to Ben. There may be an overnight stop involving beer as well...

Well chaps, maybe in a few weeks.
They went and cancelled it for today anyways, due to weather (cowards)
I was up for it! I have been bored all day too, however might have scored some car parts by being online at the right moment ;) Brilliant!
