Hmm... just got back from a run to Ashington, averaged 85 on the way back...
pulled up outside my garage and bloody blue smoke appears, smells oily. Reved a little to raise pressure (+ 200rpm appx) and all ok, moved the car back into the parking slot and let it run for a few mins - no more smoke...
Was this a one off (first time it has happened in that volume) - and due to piston ring wear?
Can't be tubby surely - I've only jsut put a completely recon one in... And it doesn't smoke on start either?
It does need a tune, I know that and the clutch is a little slippy under high load.... So what do you think? A little piston ring wear?
Very smelly smoke... poooooooh
Or could it have been an accumulation of oil while i was hooshing along that then dropped into the cylinders from the baffles or summat?

At tickover, oil pressure remains, but the engine demands very little oil.

Thus you'll get build ups on the returns to the sumps. Unfortunately, the blower is very prone to this.

The oil will build up and seep past the rotor shaft seal.

If it starts to happen again, then you're turbo's on its way out.. Otherwise, ignore it for now.

Be aware though, that you may got oil contamination in the Asbestos Hamster.

Well, my tubby is only a few months old...
And asbestos hamster? Cat? What cat... this one doesn't have a cat...
