Guys and gals,

I just want to remind everyone to be careful going to and from Japfest tomorrow, Japfest themselves have told me that the local Police are planning on being out in force and there are rumours adrift that they'll be using unmarked cars to 'goad' people into racing on the day to catch them out speeding.

Make sure it isn't you that gets caught out

Cheers for the heads up Algie. I would like to think we're a pretty sensible bunch but its always good to know when to be extra cautious.

See you all there :sxoc:

I wouldn't be surprised if the target speeds are set very low , 71 in a 70 etc ;)

I'd rather leave a few minutes earlier or arrive a few minutes later if it protects my license/insurance renewal

In my experience you have to drive really bloody fast to knock much time of a typical journey nowadays. It's much easier to just go with the flow.

Skoda Octavia VRS and Honda Accord Type-R's are a popular choice amongst local law enforcement officers of the unmarked variety btw ;)

It's fair enough really - Personally I'm curious to see wether it's a Saxo, Corsa, or 106 in the dry stone wall this year :wack:
EVERY event at combe there'll always be at least one chav'd up shopping trolley in the same piece of wall on the same corner

And given the people (sweeping generlisation alert!) who attend these meets I'd say it's a bloody good thing the police crack down having watched muppets at play on the way to/from these events :indiff:

Bit of a barsteward though as my speedo's in foreign :annoyed:

On the motorway (m5 i think) there was a totally bog standard x5 in front of me which turned out to be a unmarked police car there where no extra aerials and you couldnt even seen the lights till they where on. They where small strips hidden under the spoiler on the back. I was shocked when it pulled over a van in front.

What were these rumours about Algie going a tad fast throught the average 50mph section before the services ;)

Noticed on the way out an S13 with SXOC on the front, stopped and talking to the police, hope they were just random stopping and it wasn`t something too serious.

I saw two coppers in the little village close to Castle combe (after turning right out the gate) one stepped out with his hair dryer and I was glad at that point to be doing bang on 30. Although the rather chavved up FTO? couple of cars in front got pulled over.

Yup I saw a black FTO with small front plate + another small hatch that'd been pulled over as I left.... I was taking it easy as knackered + didn't want any points....

I saw the Escort that was on the clarion stand and an MX5 turbo in white caught outside castle combe on the way home, must have been speeding, and later near the M4, the mx5 is racing someone else!

I had a little yellow saxo drive right on my rear bumper until I got to the motorway:mad: I also believe his passenger was filming me on his phone......no doubt he's going to be boasting to his mates that he kept up with a 200:rolleyes: with police on the lookout I kept my cool and rolled with it:indiff:

Didnt see a single copper until i saw 2 on the M5 at about 8:30 :wack:

However, my mate got pulled in his RX7 just outside castle combe for having no front plate. He fitted a new bumper the night before, plate was in the car. The copper then noticed he had a headlight cover missing (caused by mach1 driving first thing this morning  it just went!) and said "right, im doing you for only having 1 light" and got his book out. My mate then asked the copper how many lights a car requires, before poping up the 2 pop-ups. The copper screwed up the bit of paper, and said "right, well im now doing you for no plate!" so a producer it was. Twat.

Funny as hell the copper not realising the lights are under the cover :D tit!

I got pulled on the way home in some village about 10/15 mins from Japfest for not having my front numberplate on (it was in the window). The policeman was cool about it though, just told me to refit it (i had all the fixings+tools on me) and he me off without a fine :)
