I have never seen a turbo so small. I think a garden snail could be bigger. I had to look at it a couple of times as i didn't beleive it wasthe turbo. I didn't get a picture but a had a giggle. ooh the power, just don't expect to go round corners in one

I'd love to see a single-make race series for Smart Fortwos.
It would be carnage, but what fun! :D
It would be great fun! :D Theyre actually massiveley strong you could bash the heck out of them and still keep driving :D

Bit off topic but apparently the rights to the Smart Roadster have been bought by AC who are looking at putting it back into production.

There's a few round Bristol with dump valves and bling alloys and some weird metal panels on the back, really cheer me up in the mornings when I see/hear them :D

wow, thats cool, is the exhaust housing built into the manifold?

It's not cool, it's a PITA. Upgrade means you need a new manifold, can't just bung any turbo that fits the flange on like you can with a 200SX. Increases the cost and complexity of upgrades making it a big step. Limits number of suppliers making prices high. Reduced sales volume ensures prices are higher still. £1500 with exhaust and re-map - about 100-105bhp, 20-25bhp gain.

Others run around £1000 without exhaust or vital re-map. It's the sort of money that nets you a brand new 360bhp GT28RS, manifold and dump pipe for 200SX S13.
USA they go for GT12 as upgrade - the smallest GT Garrett make. I'm not sure if it's smaller than the Garrett T15 they fit on Honda CX500/650 turbo and Hyundai S-coupe turbo.
Mitsubishi do the same. Dodge used it on SRT-4, they caught the nasty habit from Mitsubishi when they got involved with the DSM Eclipse.
They go pretty well, I was pleasantly surprised, which soon turned to horror when a corner appeared
