Can someone confirm the number of Machines that Microsoft recommend in:

Single Domain model

Single Master, Multi domain model

Multi Master, Multi domain model

Dumnno about that but Service pack 6a only allows eith 10,000 or 20.000 people logged onto a domain at once.

Doesn't list machines, but according to Microsoft Curriculum (Supporting Microsoft Windows NT Server 4.0 Enterprise Technologies).....

Single Domain, - <40,000 users.
Single Master, Multi Domain - <40,000 users.
Multi Master, Multi Domain - >40,000 users.

The theoretical limit of NT for single master / single domain is limited by the maximum size of the registry which is 153.6 Mb.

Microsoft claim that the SAM Database could be 150Mb of this 153.6 MB, because non SAM hives of the registry consume no more than 3 Mb. This equate to 165,000 accounts (User / Groups /Computers)
