View Full Version : Fitting a boost controler to my scooby
I have just got a profec b cheap and I am going to pop it on to my 94 wrx. I know you have to disconnect the boost regulating solenoid valve from the boost pipes, but do you disconect the electrical plug, and would that not throw up a check engine light? I have located the solenoid, but there seems to be two pressure sensors type things on my inner wing. One is a brown colour with two 4mm pipes and a electrical connector on the top of it, just below that is a metal type cylinder with one 6mm pipe and one 4mm pipe comming from it and the electrical connection its tucked away underneath. which one am I after? Also what kind of boost pressure will I expect fuel cut to kick in?
Thanks in advance :)

The bit of vacuum hose going between the compressor housing and the actuator will have a T off it going to the boost solenoid. Just take this line off(at the T) and plug it. Thats the car no longer controlling boost and you wont get a CEL either. Leave the rest of the stuff in the boost pack alone:)
I am not sure what the fuel cut is on a 94 but on my 97 its 1.14 bar I. I have bounced off it a few times.
If you put up a pic I can point things out.
Hope that helps.
One pic as requested. Thinking its the one below, but what it the brown bit on top?
