Last year, they run 500mtrs and then top speeds.

This year, they're unsure if they should stick to 500mtrs, or just run 1/4's instead.

What do you think?

I can relate to 1/4 mile times better :)

Don't do metric, it's imperial all the way!

I think 0-500m would be more benificial to us RWD cars, but I'm happy either way

0-500m seem a good way to go

Jeez why the hell don't we go all the way 0-500 m then we could also do 0-96.54 kph times as well

Bloody Euro Crap

can't we have both? Or do you not have enough timing lights?

Whats the point in 0-500m times? No one tests for that, no one can relate to it. The only people that have tested 0-500m are TOTB last year. Even the Japs that are metric test 0-400m which is near enough the same as 1/4 mile.

1/4 mile times are easier to compare cause just about everbody uses them. Where as like steve said only TOTB uses 0-500m times.

deffo 1/4 mile times, it is nigh on impossible to get a accurate measure of performance with the 500m sprints:confused: I can't relate or compare it to anything.
Also trying to work out what the 1/4 mile time is from the 500m sprint is confusing and duff:mad:

fair enough commenst so far!

just for background the rs cossy lot wanted 1/2 mile drag runs as fair to compare 500+bhp rwd cars against 4wd cars.
this proved to be a prob with layout of airfield, so compromise was set at 0-500m.

some of 2wd cars ran 12.7s 135+mph in 500m.
quickest cars tho were 4wd ie ronnie, norris evo.

dont forget that technically you are all racing the rwd cars for a trophy, together with yourselves.
ie vipers, supras, rwd cossys etc etc.
its just for the the head-to head eliminators at the end when 2wd meets 4wd for real! you can of course race whoever u wish in the day during qualifying.

so far its looking like 1/4s for you lot, anyone else?
cheers
chris

1/4 mile is proper.

What the hell does 500m mean!?

The rate this Country's going you won't have two legs each with a foot at the end you'll have two legs each with 18cm at the end (or whatever that works out at which I am not interested in:rolleyes: ).

Metric is pants.

500m...........

What is all this Napoleonic talk? 500m?!

1/4 mile will do just fine. No exuses... rwd? part of the game is getting the traction, not moving the goal posts
