I havent got a s13 other than the rb26 project at the moment, but i will be stealing a car for this if it goes ahead...as long as dori is still acceptable.
Despite the initial worries (no tyres!) it was a really good day last time!
I'd be up for this is if my bumper wouldn't get wrecked :(
Yes please:nod:
...as long as dori is still acceptable.
What he said:D

Ah... What're the sound limits again?
The 7 may be pushing it now I think about it :o
Think it's just under the combe regs.......
Depending on cost and timeing, potentially - I'll only need 1st in my 200, right? :wack:
Would it be a good learner track for someone without much confidence in a Eunos?

Although the Haynes days are always great fun the tracks getting a little tedious, is there anywhere else that might tick all the Haynes day type boxes but with a different layout?
Perhaps an airfield day somewhere?
If not i'd be interested in coming along to this again as it's definately good fun :)

3rd is possible if you don't take the chicane ;)
And I'd have thought yes to the other Q

awesome, thank you muchly - I will broach the subject... ;)
Any idea of a ballpark cost?
Haynes may have put their prices up but I'll aim to get it under £75 for the day, hopefully closer to £50
Anyone got any links to Aerial shots, i'm trying to persuade someone - i have videos, just need a view from above if poss ;)
Google Earth hasn't got a high enough res for a decent zoom :(
EDIT: Scratch that, she's watched Jonboy's video of it, that's a No then :wack:

i might be up for this, but im all out of 200s, ive sold me collection, to build an extension, but i have a new toy which might be ready for the day, in the shape of a 90 e34 535i sport, which could be good for some fun. we still allowed on sx track days without an sx.

Priority will be given to those bringing a 200 but it doesn't seem likely that there will be a problem bringing something else. You'll need to rejoin the club though mate ;)

Also wondering about this, as i have a straight through 3" and apex single silencer cat-back. Bit stupidly loud, so might need to get a silencer in the de-cat.

I don't think they test unless they decide that it's too loud once you're on the track but that exhaust will not pass in a million years if they do test it  I had an Apex single silencer with tubular manifold and s/s turbo elbow and that comes in at ~120db on a static test.

looks like i'm in trouble then, i've also got a 3" down pipe and elbow.
The de-cat is currently just a 4.5" expansion tank.
and it really is stupid, but i've not got the funds to change for a decent high flow silencer yet :(
I'm a possible - my crappy tyres have survived 2 full days at haynes, I'm determined to kill them :D
For alternatives - Curborough is a very similar format (you get the keys for the day), but I think they only do weekdays... Airfield day would be cool - dunno about somewhere like Kemble for all you west country bumpk... err, folk ;)
edit: I'm at curborough on the wednesday before (as is wallers IIRC) - so it may be a bit close for comfort....

glad i made it just to say hi before popping off to the bath and west were i was cleaver enough to apply lots of factor 30 while the misses got cooked!
nice to meet you few guys, shame there wasn't more but hey means i can have a play next time!
oh and lee glad you didn't prank it even though you had a couple offs! you need a sexy s14 spoiler will help no end!:p
As per the post a few back anyone got any decent aerial shots or shots of the tighter bits (i.e. with no run off..)
Guys at work are talking about going up but the comments here make me think it's an accident prone track! and I seem to remember sections made up from armco barrier wotsits.
Oh and I take it the tyres will take a fair beating right?

Some peoples tyres do at Haynes but thats with a lot of back end out action I think for most people a day at Haynes wouldn't bother the tyres too much as there are no high speeds involved and you don't spend much time out on track before coming in to go to the back of the que.
As for accident prone I would say it's only if you're trying to drift, to crash there and do any damage whilst going for grip would take some doing.
http://maps.live.com/default.aspx?v=2&cp=51.041679~-2.556698&style=h&lvl=18&tilt=-90&dir=0&alt=-1000&encType=1
It looks a bit worse than it really is there though...
I find the tyre wear very bad! With a little warm up I can link the whole track together when drifting, which means I was getting 6 laps from a pair of newish 6mm tyres on the rear. I had to go home early the other day as I had distroyed 16 tyres! by 3pm.
The run off is ok, there is 3 main corners that require a fast entry speed, 1 has run off, 1 has space to spin if you get it wrong and 1 is armco.
I love this track as from a drivers point of view it feels very good to get it linked. However the trick is to build upto the faster speeds over the day. Get used to the track and where you can make mistakes.
I have some footage of a linked driftlap incar I will get it online soon so you can see the track.
Cheers James.

16:eek: I thought my 10 was good:D
I think 2drift is right- its about building your speed thoughout the day. It is not however the best place to begin to learn to drift- as i found out, but with a few practice days under my belt I really really enjoyed this outing:D It take much more concentration than a coned carpark but is much more rewarding:nod:
