so none the wiser so am going to do the head gasket anyway, might as well paint cam covers etc while I am there:rolleyes:

spent the rest of the day cleaning out the insides of cam covers ............. not nice|!

right it was head gasket!!! sorry jibber will get compression tester back asap, if you need it before I am on the road I will have to drive a peugeot!!!!!

still got it! nice and clean and stored securely but head taking longer than expected as I am going to town on the head, and repainting all items beore refitting, just PM if you need it baack in the next couple of weeks.............. thanks Jibber!
