Deffo needs sound though!
Most people would have called it a day after that nasty accident, but he didn’t retire from racing until early 2000:wack:
Phenomenal driving in phenomenal racing cars!!
This is what went on after the accident....

that was Bathurst in the 90's, the R32 GTR was the new kid on the block, Nissan only managed to enter one car for the July 1990 Bathurst Jim Richards and the legendary Mark Skaife drove the soul R32 GTR. In October 1990 the Gibson motorsport team arrived at Bathurst with two GTRs, both were very fast but had technical problems but Mark Skaife still set ftd and finished 18th overall.
The press referred to the GTR as "The Weapon" :)
it did take a while to get the GTR's to last endurance races, but the GTRs reported power output was 585hp+ so it had the edge over the RS500 Sierra’s down the straights.
Pretty much throughout the year the skylines were finding their feet, the Brock Sierra's continued to take wins.
Arry, these Sierra’s werent crappy carb fed pinto’s! they were monsters and a spectacle to watch, just like the later R32 GTR racers.
Cheers :)
