Can anyone help with this electrical problem (non-starter), it's a massive conundrum and completely doing my head in.

I guess it's only relevant if you know your 205 electrical systems inside and out or/and have a wiring diagram handy but hey, it's worth a shot :wack:

-Fuel pump primes if I bridge tachy relay but not without it bridged
-Car will turn over but there is no spark from king lead off coil
-There is no power to coil
-There IS earth to coil
-Coil readings for primary and secondary windings are fine
-When car first went fuse in ignition amplifier was blown
-I'm getting fuel to the rail but not out of injectors
-I have changed ignition module three times, coil three times, tachymetric relay twice, dizzy & arm once, checked all earths, cleaned up and checked lead between dizzy and ign. module. and changed fuseboard
-Wire 32a to tachy relay NOT getting switched power
-Getting 12.5v to wire 1 back of ignition barrell with ignition off and switched
-Get 12.5v to wire 1 on fuseboard
-Get nothing to any pins of plug E on Fuseboard
-12.5v to F2-F9 on fuseboard
-Nothing to F10-F14 on fuseboard
-12.5v (switched) to pin 3 and 4 of plug BA
-Wired up a fused wire from stereo loom to F1, blew fuse straight away not sure if I should search for another switched live position?
-Not getting power to any of the pins on ignition module plug with ignition switched
-Can't find any problems with wiring being loose etc. to E or BA

take the cover off the tachy relay, if it's scorched in there at all (i'm guessing 2 pins will be) you need a new one. had it happen to me. also check the brown multi-plug ontop of the gearbox, give it a wiggle and push it firmly together. next have a look at the wire that comes from the distributor, about 8 inches long and goes to a yellow plug, check there are no breaks in the wire.

Tachy relay check and change done
Wire from dizzy to ignition module done
Brown multiplug not done will have a look

Brown multiplug only does sensors and starting switch to starter motor. check all pins are located in the plugs to the ingnition amp as they have a tendancy to work lose

hmm, ok mate, well mine had multiple problems, a split in the signal wire from the dizzy caused a short and i think fried the tachy, i luckily had a spare so after 3 days of fcuking about it took 3 minutes to get it running. fromwhat i can tell (theory not fact) the pump only fires when the engine is turning and it gets a signal from the dizzy, which also fires up the coil

Interesting but I think it does prime when you switch the ignition. Although i've checked the lead over and repaired a few frayed bits (clutching at straws really) I hav'nt actually changed it so I guess thats one of the only things left to do, then it's ECU although It's doubtfull that it would be that, then it's matches and Jerry can time  :annoyed:
