Has anyone with a T3 mastered the standing start yet??

Ive been trying all weekend and I either: Drop the clutch to early 2500-3000rpm and she dies.

or

Give it 5000rpm drop the clutch and leave 2 black stripes, blue smoke, and seem to go nowhere either http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/confused.gif

Is there there a magic rpm to be dropping the clutch at, cos at the moment Im either looking stoopid cos the car dies, or lookink stoopid for lighting the tyres up for an eternity http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/rolleyes.gif

I was Practising for Santa Pod, but as the meet has been delayed, looks like Im gonna get more much needed practise in.

Hi mate,
Im sure Santa Pod is still on the 17th June, I spoke to Matt yeterday and he said he was going along with steve, Im sure Paul is going as well. steve sadler said him and a couple of his mates are going to turn up (driving licence this time steve). I think Dave should stay sober on saturday night and turn up this time was well. as for the standing starts, I used to be able to use the clutch and slip it to stop the wheels spinning but as you should know that luctury is not there with the paddle clutch. my plan of action is to start off steady until she's rolling and then use full throttle, I noticed a few people doing this last time we were at the pod. and thinking about it it should work ok as given that last time I fluffed it at the lights I still managed a good top speed, I know you still get wheel spin but it isnt so bad if your already rolling. I managed to get a 5.5 yesterday (my personal best) with no wheel spin and no traction control by going steady in 1st. See ya there http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/biggrin.gif

Dont worry I'm not gonna forget my license this time. I'm definitely up for the next Santa Pod meet.

The drive through country on the way there and back was pretty nice too.

Nath, 5.5 eh! not bad, not bad at all.

Hopefully, I'll have a set of new tyres then and 17's to go with em. (need tyres badly)
