Well, i guess i need to do it really for piece of mind, ive done 110mph on my private road and the was no sign of the bonnet lifting etc but better to be safe than sorry!

I have some DW bonnet pins that i need to fit but dont have the tools and dont want to **** it up.

Anyone done these before, i can travel to you if you have the tools.

Cheers,

Adam :)

I reckon Sorensons should have some in.

So are you doing yours yourself Pablo?

Im free tomorow after i've handed my report in at 11am so can come round yours or something and we can both do ours. Thats if you dont have work or anything of course! :D

looks like im going to halfords for a drill bit now aswell lol. hpo i can get the pins!

what areas of the latch did you have to trim. i did the flared bits (the mouth) to stop it touching the bonnet but i cant get the latch to come down far enough to catch in?. the bonnet is as far as itll go (on the lights...) and i cant raise the catch without a hell of job of taking the front end apart..possibly

Hmmm, not to sure on the S15, but i'll have a look and we can look at mine.

i thought a 1cm drill attatchment was a fiarly common size lol!, i guess most pins are a very similiar diammeter so you'd need to get one for yours anyway. ;)

I'll pm you my mob no. now, so you can let me know if you manage to get hold of any pins, so i know whether to drive out to your dads or not. :)

put some washers under the locking mechanism that is attached to the car to bring it up so it locks into the catch on the bonnet, then there will be no need for the bonnet pins:thumbs:

Adam tbh if it dosen't lift then it should be fine as it is. You should get someone in front of you and go at speed and let them see if it lifts alot by checking there rear veiw mirror. It shouldn't be dangerous for them as a quick glance is all they need. Is the metal frame bonded well to the outer skin?

No metal in it at all.

Well that was fun! :D

Me and Pablo did a cracking job, well Pablo did really.

Took it on my private track and at 125mph it was sucure as a secure thing so well pleased i dont have to worry about it now.

Hope all goes smooth for your cutting out Pablo! :sxoc:

Let me know how you get on.
