Just wondering if you need to have an MOT to have the car parked on the road?

My car is taxed and insured but as its been sat the MOT has run out and i need to move the car back on the road to refit my engine today.

I usually wouldnt care and just put the car back on the road (its been there a month or so anyway) and fit it, but ive had issues with the police recently including them knocking on my door at 00:15 waking the whole house up saying that my car has no insurance and they were going to tow it away

My mum also spotted them driving past the house last night at about 2-3mph looking up the driveway to where the car was parked around 8pm so im a little worried about them coming back today and having a go again :annoyed:

i think you need mot to go on the road mate, why dont you just book it somewhere for a mot on the day your putting the engine in, if on the off chance the police see the car on the road you can say your taking it for an mot that afternoon

without an MOT your insurance is void, you have no insurance.

To be parked on the road your car only needs to be taxed. You only need your MOT and insurance to drive it.
