View Full Version : Is that sudden smell of wee something else or my oldness playing me up again?!?
as the regular pub wont sell beer or coke to regulars, we need a new location.
really it's a project for the anal gear rep:ghey: , but he hasn't been seen in the SOUTH EAST since christmas
so any suggestions for a pub, that serves people with food and drink, has a car park, and swings and slides for the younger memebrs?
personally i prefer the ones that aren't happy eaters with beer added on the side.
i guess some of you will like

What happened at the last meet grim ?
Emmerson Valley isn't very nice :(
The Swan at middleton does great food , but I dont remeber the car park as that big ( tricky to find too )
Pub with an Art gallery ? have you gone mad ! :)
Bletchly Park - good but its close to bletchly which is bad.
...........
The black horse ( formerly the proud perch is nice, but its more of a gastro pub these days )
Quite a lot of car clubs seem to use the Brewers Fayre at Caldicotte lake ? ( by the windmill )
what about the Coffee Pot at Yardly Gobion ?

the white heart at sherrington is in the CAMRA guide - got a nice little drive up or down chitchley hill etc ?

is the Black horse that much different to when we tried it before?
last month i was the only person to get served without a letter from my mum, signed by the pope to confirm i was over 21.....
and as 'adults' weren't allowed to buy drinks for 'children' it got rather silly.
lou asked if she could buy jake a drink as he was under 21. nope
the other bar staff were pissing themselves......
even more when i went back to the bar for a coke for dan 30 seconds later. and got served.:D
bt we have over a week to decide a location. once we do, i'lledit my first post, otherwise everyone will be confused. and at the wrong pub....
dan - less of the feeling my setup please;)

Thats rediculous - I think the harvester is formally banned ( even though they had that Bonzai barmaid who made me feel a bit illegal )
The Black Horse has much less of a pub area now , its more restaurenty and likely to be pretty busy.

I'm sort of tempted to suggest the ship at willen local center. Parking isn't the best although should be fine on a sunday, and it's an excellent pub
Moby-Dick
17-04-2007, 13:09
Parking should be ok as long as you dont want to do too many Stevenage style lineups :)
the only problem we may have is that sunday is a quiz night down there , which might get a bit annoying ( dont think it starts till 9 )

cos duckweed will smell so much better :wack:
you can fight the ducks for their bread :D keep your strength up. Dont want dan to have to give you mouth to mouth in the showers again, do you? or do you........
mmmm crispy duck
duck and bread, so duck sandwiches for work, duck pizza for lunch and breaded duck for supper.
who gets the bill? the bill....get it, ohh why do i bother.

anyway back on topic.............. this place better do good chips and garlic bread. might even get Vez along if the garlic bread is good. he had 3 portions last night
does garlic bread mean garlic flavoured ducks if we feed them enough of it?
more important, does it float?
What about the Premier Travel Inn outside of Bletchley heading out towards Walnut Tree? It's the big place with the windmill in the middle of it.
In summer, now, you can sit outside and look over the lake to your right and the cars to the left. It's also very good value I think, and positioned within striking distance of IKEA for those who don't know the area so well.
My net is slow at work so I haven't checked your links so it could be in there.
Either way, I could be in for it. I might be in Notts but we will see :)
Edit, Danny has already suggested it :wack: :D

im lost for words.... Grim + danny? oh dear.
don't really mind where we go as long as parkings alright. to be fair after the exit i don't think we'll be to welcomed back to the harvester anyway, not mentioning any names... Gus!
im told the shit a shore at willen gets quite busy for the quiz. Don't think ive been to any of the others. Caldecottes quite nice, down by the lake, i know they have a dub meet down there bimonthly thing i think. pick a pub any pub.
Either way, I could be in for it. I might be in Notts but we will see :)

woverton mill, nice pub huge garden, pretty big carpark. though usually crammed with loads of children, so grim would be breaking his injunction order.

Caldicote is looking best IMO, that wolverton one sounds nice too, but can't picture where it is
wolverton? off the roundybout where we hit the a5 for sliverstoon

yeah, i used to work there ;) can't think where the pub is though, most of Wolverton is a dive

Its wolverton mill - head up the v5 from the A5 roundabout and its after the h1 roundabout I think.

though i would agree caldecote seems the better option at moment.
how about the hungry horse at Broughton, cracking food, nice garden for kids and a reasonable size carpark only downside may be that it does get quite busy

Caldecotte is ok. It can get very busy when the weather is hot and its sometimes hard to park.
Wolverton Mill is a good pub for parking if people want to do car things now the evenings are getting lighter. I would have drive a scenic route to get there as it is within walking distance from my house :D
Where ever it is I will be there.

I think a large car park will have to be a must as it seems to be getting warmer, how about brewers fayre (http://www.brewersfayre.host.goodtechnology.net/results.jsp?establishmentID=1426&qasSearchFileType=Brewers_Fayre) or kareoke sunday?! (http://www.pub-explorer.com/bucks/pub/grebeloughton.htm) :wack:
Unfortunatly I dont know of much in MK pub wise... :(

The one in Kingston is shite, don't bother. Try the caldicote arms (the windmill one next to the A5 mucho better IMO :)
shall we do the windmill one then?
agreed?
after all we all know what a windmill looks like. from Trumpton:wack:
