I finally got a decent camera the other day, a Canon EOS 400d. I decided to go take a few pics today. Let me know what ye think, good or bad. Any tips are completely welcome. Other than reg plates and the last pic nothing has been changed from the original.

I used a tripod gor this one. Took 2 pics one with the bonnet down and the other with it up. I used Photoshop then to edit the 2 pics together.

Thanks., I should mention that the pics are resized down a fair bit and the quality is dropped a good bit aswell. If anyone wants to see a high res of any of them just let me know.

I work for Prodrift, hence the sticker. It looks a bit strange in some pics becuase is a silver foil sticker.

Looking good there
A couple of pointers that always make car shots look good is
1. To make sure that the steering is turned so the wheel faces you ( like in the first 3 )

2. Brush up on you post processing, I spent less than 5 minutes working on 2 of your images and think I've improved them, and yes it's all cos of the black box I put them in :wack:

Very nice car mate!245/45/17 front (horrible tires), 255/45/17 rear.
get a new exhaust :wack:Its 3" the whole way back with a custum backbox. I'm not changing it because I love the sound however I will be changing the tail piece very shortly.
lol it did:nod: apex infact and someone took it off or cut the backbox off:rolleyes:Like I said its a custom back box.

Hope you like them :)Yup, they do look very well.

Point 1, cheers didn't think of changing the direction of the wheels, I definatly will the next time.

Point 2, TBH I'm new at all this so any pointers on anything are more than welcome, I never thought of putting a black box around them.

Cheers.

Any more suggestions and comments are more than welcome!!!

I may be slated for this but i'm not a fan off the gtr wheels on the 200, other than that its a lovely car!!How dare you.... Haha. Each to their own I love them however they're being changed shortly, I'm still deciding between which wheels I'm going to put on but since the car is getting new skirts, rear bumper and wide front and rear arches it'll be completely different. A nice set of 18 and coilovers will be gotten to drop it right down on some nice wide wheels.

And no I won't be getting Rota's, either Works or Gram Lights.

Rota GTRs yes, but how many people have GENUINE TE37s??? I've yet to see a pair! Either that or I'm looking in all the wrong places! :wack:

Rota GTRs yes, but how many people have GENUINE TE37s??? I've yet to see a pair! Either that or I'm looking in all the wrong places! :wack:Copies are very common and most poeple wouldn't know the difference. Personally I'd rather something a bit more unusual and unique.

Did you have to modify the air duct at the front to get it to fit?

Very nice motor.
And some good pics - especially when 'enhanced'
Juz - what did you do in you "5 mins" particularly - how did you selectively darken/lighten areas (Sky/car respectively) and why/how does the foreground (the car) look so much sharper now?

16-04-2007, 18:41
What setting were u using? What ISO? Seems like an awful lot of noise tho that could just be down to u resizing and saving them as smaller files.

Car looks really well, tho I personally think the GTR rims are holding it back, they just look OEM which imo doesnt go with a kit.

http://www.drifting-gear.com/sxoc/Pic.zip

Theres a pic un molested. Its in zip format and is just under 4mb.

As for the camera settings It was on auto. Like I said I just got the camera on Friday and its my first SLR so I'm only playing at the moment.

Finally for the rims, all will be changed very shortly. Its going to be wide arches and the only part of the kit thats staying is the front bumper. I'm getting a new rear and sides.

@Slarty, nope nothing was modified.

16-04-2007, 19:40
Yea theres a lot of settings to get familiar with! That pic looks a bit cleaner, noise was just from it being saved as a lesser sized file I think.

Muttly
16-04-2007, 19:43
Ya I just realised I saved it in Photoshop as.... Save for web, jpeg low. oops. I'll resave them later as jpeg high.

Muttly
16-04-2007, 21:28
The front bumper is a Vertex replica, possibly version select. I don't know what the skirts or rear spats are but I'm swapping them for Origin sides and rears. The spoiler is a Kouki one.

Whats it going in for? hopefully not moving away from blue lolOh god no, I love the blue. I wanted a damson one before and the one I wanted sold just before I had the money to buy it, then I looked at a blue with cream and swore I was going to have one. Quick plans are change the front seats to R32 GTR's but with a cream leather retrim, then put on wide arches front and back, along with the rest of the kit to match the front bumper and respray the whole car the exact same colour, along with my second de-spoilered boot. I'm also getting the boot thats on it now completely flushed and remounting the Kouki again. I want it flused as its got the original spoiler holes on it and they look awful.
that looks

but the 'S' bonnet badge needs turning 45oc to the left :smash:I know I don't have it on the "correct" way but when I was putting it on I tried it the "correct" way and I didn't like it. I much prefer it the wrong way. Its different anyway.

The new paint job will be done right 2. It'll be getting a full baking when its being sprayed.

JP
20-04-2007, 15:17
Baking?

Muttly
20-04-2007, 15:19
To get a really good finish on paint it needs to be heated after its been sprayed, therefore its put in a very large over and baked for a few hours to really harden the paint. I'll probably get it colour sanded aswell so it comes up looking absolutly perfect. All minor dents etc are gonna be sorted along with some new mirrors.

JP
20-04-2007, 15:32
Cool! How much extra does that cost? Also, why the new mirrors? You mean after-market mirrors don't you! ;)

Muttly
