Right hey all.... I was driving over to cheltenham earlier going "quite" fast lol... and after slowing to a halt and going to pull off again i noticed the car misfiring slightly and then going back to normal. It seemed like it was only doing it on boost to start off with... After a little while of going careful it gradually got worse! It now misses all the time!
There is/was no smoke which says its not something detrimental! There wasnt any abnormal noises that i could hear but i did have the music loud  I just wanna get it sorted cos its missing its tits off!!!! Im hoping maybe a coil pack has given up?
I was wondering if maybe anyone has a spare working coil pack that i could try out? I had alook under the bonnet but couldnt see anything obvious! So im thinkin either spark or fuel!
Could meet up at some point but obviously its not doing it n e good runing round with a
misfire!!!
Any help much0s apreciated!!!

Could also be Sparkplugs
I killed mine on a trackday - the car ran fine until you started to put it under load, then it would miss occaisionally :)

coilpack.just had exactly the same problem with mine.Pull the rubber ends off and check the condition of the springs and the contact patch.

It was number one spark plug after, drew. I asked him to check before we stuck in my spare set of coils and found the electrode and the other bit that the spark jumps to/from had obliterated themselves. Good thing the ceramic was still in one piece.

IK22's with 13psi of boost on a standard T28. Maybe that is what did it? He's got a set of 24's in now. Speedy0o, have a check of the plugs I gave you one day and see if there's been any damage to them.

Wel just an update to this thread... Comin back from notts last week.. thought id try giving it some beans... yet again after a prolonged period of hard driving..... buuuuuuur burbububur oh dear.. another misfire... but was ok off boost... but had to drive it like it for 25miles, it was ok as long as i didnt get the tiniest hint of boost and i mean none.. had to keep my foot perfectly still on the pedal to stop it missing..
Got to work the next day whipped the number 1 plug out 1st.. oh and what a surprise...
melted!!!!!!!!
Checked the rest... a few were a tiny bit white im assuming with extreme heat... but ok
So shes got a brand new set of denso IK24's now.... and im running it on 99ron super AND octane booster to help cut out the pinking untill i can raise the cash to go get H-Dev to map my ECU for me!
I've also swapped number 1 and number 2 coil packs around... just in case.. but i think for now its just a case of lay off the go faster pedal for a while!!! :annoyed:

Bugger. Something can't be right if it's killing plugs.. I know they weren't new, but I didn't have any missfires when I ran them.
Could you get a compression test done and see what that says?

It only did it top speed tho its fine just driving around normal! For the min ive got a light right foot a tank full of 99ron and octane booster to help stop the pinking! Its doing ok at the min... Im thinking maybe igntion timing could be out a smidge?!? I mean if its firing a tad to late it wont do it much good!
