View Full Version : Glass polish?
I need a decent glass cleaner/polish. I searched (quickly) without result...
Any recomendations?
All I'm after is what you'd expect really, streak free, dust free, ease of use :ghey: etc... Mr OCD?

Unlikely... removing scuffs / scratches is not something easily done with glass... polishing glass can create more haziness especially on front screens with it being laminated. So be careful :)
Wow that was fast
Thanks for that. Where can I get that from and I'll order some?

i use Nilco Glass cleaner after washing the car and then halfords glass cutter. Its a chalk based product and it cleans brilliantly, however comes off like dried polish. I then go over it again with the Nilco glass cleaner just to remove the chalky stuff. Bit of an arse, but really does clean.
yeah, i've gotta say, autoglym is really really good stuff imo, but the dust is a right pain in the bum!!!!
i did buy some rain X and it came with some glass cleaner which i have to say, it very good indeed.. it even foams so you can see it more prominently.. streak free and very quick, made the rear screen an easy job from the inside
the AG does a better job than the rain X stuff, but only marginally, and for the extra effort i'm not sure its worth it :)
Autoglym Glass Polish is the best stuff I've used, but it does create a lot of dust unfortunately.
Autoglym Fast Glass is shite.
Yeh the Auto Glym resin glass polish is top stuff. Think Apex is now selling Auto Glym stuff.
Old newspaper + vinegar works really well at polishing glass. Unfortunately it'll make the inside of your car smell like stale fish and chips :wack:

You can get scratches polished out but it's not recommended. Causes distortion in the field of view.
Then use Stoners Invisible Glass ..
Ordering the stuff now

trust me on this mags do a clear glass spray, its by far the best stuff, just spray on then buff up. i have never used an easier glass cleaner than this, always remember to use 2 cloths, one when you spray the stuff on then a second to buff again if need be ! i got the ag stuff and it sits in the shed since i tried the maguires stuff...
The Megs stuff is utter shite.... just thrown a nearly new bottle in the bin!!!
Can you use the old machine polisher on screens?
use Stoners Invisible Glass
He's right you know, this stuff is great!
Very little effort required and not a streak in sight! No dusting what so ever either.
I'll not be buying anymore cleaning products without clonsulting this man first, he knows his sh1t  Cheers Mr OCD
turlte wax extreme glass is the best ive used. you can use it even in direct sunlight without any smears....... and you can get it from halfords :D
