Did anybody else think that Gollum looked just like Laura from Eastenders?
Or was it just me?:o

Maybe a skinny sonia ?
Worth the extra 70p though for the lux seats.
Si :)
Got back - very impressed - better than the first one which took ages get going. The battle scene at the end was awesome! Managed two toilet visits - but I did have a large Fanta!! :D

Hi Peeps
Great film:D :D . But not to be negative but nothing like the book.:o :o .
Worth a look though.
Only another 11.5 months.
Dan,
I'm hoping to borrow LOTR 1 from a friend so that we can go to see LOTR 2 later :D Glad to see it has good reviews but thought it was OK anyway - she's been to see it 3 times so far :D
The only thing I disliked about it were where there were scenes where a blue screen was used and you could REALLY tell, i.e: thick outlines around the characters like merry and pippin on treebeard...

A mate of mine watched the first one, he thought it was good but didn't like the ending....oh dear! This is genuine. I've seen parts 1 and 2, these films are in a league of their own, but as already mentioned the book is way better again. Credit to the film tho, I thought Golem was fantastic. And where did the horses come from in the scene near the end of helmsdeep?

The films great, but dosn't compare to book. It some how takes the edge of the dark riders.
Top film
Si :)
They're both impressive films, I watched LOTR1 on DVD before going to see the second one but there's a quick recap at the start anyway. There's half an hour of extra footage on the LOTR1 DVD (my girlfriends dad has it), WTF is that all about? Half an hour? Why is it not in the original cinema release?

The producers thought it would be too long for Cinema release.

LOTR - The Two Towers? BRILLIANT! :)
I thought it was better than the first one, partly because TTT is a shorter book and fits better into the 3 hour timescale without seeming rushed. FOTR could have been 4-5 hours long IMO.
I don't like some of the liberties they took with the plot, fortunately there weren't many.

Probably not.
It just a marketing ploy to make sure every bugger and their cat either buys or rents the DVD.
Money grabbing fookers.
Who'll be off to see the back to back LOTR marathon then? Not me;
nine hours in a cinema seat +6'4" = Ouch
Oh yeah, cracking film BTW, the Gollum modelling and animation was done brilliantly, much better than that tw@t 'Dobby' from Harry Potter 2, which is cr@p BTW.

Another scene that was a bit dodgy was when they were fighting the Wargs and Legolas came running down to them in the background, looked like something out of a PS game.:(
The Gollum animation was quite superb though, it didnt distract from the film at all.
So being an obsessive fan  of LOTR and thoroughly loved the book ( reading it again) what I want to know is, is it as gory as the book?
I am squemish as hell and dreaded watching some of the bits in FOTR. As there was nothing in that I wondered what the next one is like as the book is gory and detailed. I know the rating is suitable for kids but how bad is it? :)
