View Full Version : Rolling Road Day - Dorking. Only 6 Places
I'm at Motorvation Motorsport in Dorking on Monday 3rd March for a couple of hours to get the Merc RR'd and setup.
Was thinking - anyone else fancy chipping in £60 for an hours worth and making it a bit of a day out?
So far, just me, and possible one other Merc Cosworth.
Lemme know interest now, and I'll sort it out with Motorvation.
I'm gonna keep bumping this until somebody bladdy well says yes.
Mambastu - you're nearby.
Who's in Dorking? at least one!
Guildford SXers?

NO MORE THAN 350BHP :D :D :p :p
RULES ME OUT THEN:p :p
No more that 350bhp because:
The rollers they use aren't that accurate past 350, so it'd be fairly academic
&
They don't have the capability to shove enough cold air in the front of 2 litre turbo producing that sort of power.
So the Merc will be fine then! 187bhp N/A ****.

HOW CAN THEY BE SURE THEY ARE ACCURATE BELOW 350BHP?
&

SO IF YOU CANT FEED ENOUGH COLD AIR CHARGE TEMPS WILL BE HIGH AND FIGURES WILL NOT BE ACCURATE AT ALL!!!

NOT BEING FUNNY BUT IF I WAS PAYING £35 PER RUN I WANT BETTER THAN THAT!!!:p
NOT TRYING TO BLOW OUR OWN TRUMPET BUT WE DO GIVE ACCURATE READINGS,CHECK FUELING,LISTEN FOR DET,PROVIDE ENOUGH COLD AIR AND HAVE A LARGE CAR PARK:p AND WE DO MANY RR DAYS WITH EXCESS OF 20 CARS FOR £25 EACH
Yeah - but you're feckin well in the middle of pi55ing nowhere!!!
Norwich - four hour drive for me.
No ta.
hi
what facilities will be available for tuning etc.? i.e. would they run it, then do something to make it run better?

im sure he is very good, but motorvation is only 500 yards away from me, and i am only going cos ive never been to one b4, just to get an idea what goes on. when ive got a few more mods on it then i will prolly try SCA cos most peeps rave about it
Here's a solution :-
Send me a cheque for £35 and your full spec, I will then tell you power output and be more accurate than this Rolling Road. You don't even need to go out of your front door.:D

The 2 threads have been merged, seemed a bit pointless having 2 sticky threads for the same event.

With the greatest of respect, have you been to Motorvation?
One of the guys I know through the Starion club uses it a lot and raves about it. Plus it is run by an ex-TVR dude know apparently knows everything there is to ever know about setting cars up. Seeing as my mate Ade has been in the high performance driving game for many years, I'm prepared to go with his word and give them a go...
So, have you ever been?

Oh I can tell you that mate....... They basically strap your pride and joy to the floor, wind it up on the rollers, thrash the feck out of it, and to finish they hold it at maximum revs for about 30 seconds:eek:
They then give you a nice graph showing the EXACT point that the conrod went thro the block and call the AA for you!!
It was one of the most unpleasant things I have ever heard! (Mine didn't blow up luckily!)
