I have a strong feeling that the diff in my newly aquired s14a is not performing as it should do:no: So the plan is to get another one and hope that its better.

What I'd like is help from someone whos done this before to come give me a hand in a diff change:)

Can anyone lend their services:D

Thanks

Tom:)

swapping an entire diff assembly and case or the diff internal gubbins within the case? If its a simple diff off diff on- thats easy:) 1hr job on my 13- can't be any harder on the 14- i could be persuaded;)
if its messing with the insides though i'm not your man:no:

Cheers for the response guys, I can only assume that the diff is very weak:ghey: So like you said moonhead i was just going to replace the whole lot with another standard one hopefully already in a housing, i imagine its just bolt-off then bolt-on but was unsure of procedures:o :wack:

Cheers:)

I've done a few on Landys. It looks easy on the sx and i spect i could lend a hand.

Whats up with yours? You can have a go in mine if you like and see if there's any difference? Then again mine may be ****ed....lol

Piss of piss then- undo bolts to prop, undo bolts to drive shafts, undo bolts to subframe, wiggle it down, undo pipes to oil cooler (and loop them off cos you don't need it:D ) drag the heavy bastard out!
a nice large headed jack helps to
PM me when your thinking of doing it and i'll see if i can pop down (my folks live in nailsea so go down your ways(ish) quite often)

I'll look into whats needed for a swap and let you all know if it happens

Tom; It just doesnt want to lock like my old one, you can feel it quite noticeably going around corners:ghey: you get kind of a kangoroo effect but accross the the car rather then length ways:wack:
