This new board's been running a while now and still no new styling tips. I'm starting to worry about you http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/biggrin.gif

Re your post on front number plate. I took the plunge and removed the brick from the front of the car and replaced it with a small square motorcycle number plate. Changes the whole appearance of the front and makes it look much more aggressive. Cheers for the idea http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/cool.gif

I have this thing about taking pics of my car. Last time I did it the car got written off the next day.

However, i'll see what I can do in the next couple of days, once I've washed the little devil!

Took some pics on Saturday. Hopefully Boots'll have them ready Tuesday and I'll post them tomorrow night.

Really should get round to getting a digi camera

How easy is it to remove "the brick" for the original number plate and isn't putting a motorcycle plate on a car illegal.

Only ask 'cos it looks good but I don't fancy getting any more points on my license to add to the speeding ones.

JB,

You see I DO have my uses. Occassionally. I made some progress with my front number plate obsession in the weekend as it happens. I fitted a small plate from some internet company, 3.5inches by 15. It fitted really well over the square molding and didn't overhang too much at the edges. I thought it looked really good but my missus came out to look and pissed herself laughing, saying it looked like it had been pinched off a circus dwarf's motor. I usually trust her good taste, so admitted defeat and put the original one back again. Yours looks good though.

Sam,

I wouldn't worry too much about plod tugging you for a dodgy plate. I've been using micro plates on my bikes for years, no one seems to be that bothered, unless I guess you get nicked for something else and they want to start making a list....

Just take off the number plate and undo the two screws underneath. The whole thing then comes off. As for plod, there shouldn't be any bother and surely they have better things to do http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/confused.gif .

The only problem is that you won't be able to do this sort of thing after 1st September because all number plate manufacturers/sellers will have to put their address on the plates by law and therefore will be a little reluctant to do anything not strictly legal. http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/frown.gif

Even the missus prefers the new look. I've also noticed that the car now gets a lot of attention from other s14 drivers.

Cheers Geoff

I'm off to do a bit of unscrewing now.

JB - where did you get the plate as it's not a 'proper' one?

I've put an 'import' type front plate on mine. Similar to JB but wider.

Just trying to work out how to get pics on here.

I work with windows, but the glass kind not the crashing kind.
