Why the hell is it sooooooooo expensive? I mean jesus, over 400 quid!?!?!?!? http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/eek.gif Its just plain daft if you ask me! I'd buy the T3 turbo if the fitting kit wasn't so damn expensive. Can I get away with not using the fitting kit? http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/confused.gif

My sentiments entirely dave, Stuymac seems to know the right people who can have it fitted for half the price, And T3's can be picked up for anything from £80 in the LOOT. It seems the biggest job is having your exhaust cut and pasted at the turbo end to allow the T3 elbow to join it. Might be worth finding out what the mods specifically are and see if someone daarrn your end can fabricate em.

Paul and I had a look at mine the other day and all that seems to have changed with the manifold is that the bottom of the origonal has been chopped of and the bottom of a maifold that can take the T3 welded onto it. Paul mailed simon norris to see if he would supply the down pipe on it's own. as I understand it the manifolds are very expensive which makes this convertion so much more expensive.

I was looking into getting the T28 Hybrid, but I have also taken into account the replacement cost of the turbo should it fail. The T3 is about 200odd quid cheaper! http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/eek.gif

Ill see if I can crawl under mine over the weekend and try and get a picture or how its all been done on the manafold side.

Also needed is an adaptor plate so the turbo will fit on the exhaust manafold, but I think that is quite easy to get hold of / fabricate.

That would be great Stu. I kinda resent paying that amount for a fitting kit. http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/frown.gif

I may soon have a spare (slightly cracked at the trubo end) S13 exhaust manifold for sale, anyone interested in buying it off me? You'd probably need to chop the cracked bit off to put the T3 flange on anyway..

i have fited T3 to my s13 and made the kit myself.the hardest part is making the adaptor plate, the manifold remains the same but you remove the existing studs and redrill and tap the holes.

I too may have a T3 up for grabs soon (Chimp?? http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/rolleyes.gif ), the bloke who fitted my T3 has a T3 hybrid, and Im thinking of changing. Should spin up a little quicker.

Hybrids generally dont spin up faster, my T25 hybrid spins up slower than the standard T25, there designed to give more boost rather than less lag.

Is that all the modifications you have to do to the manifold?

Yup, just make a slightly bigger adapter plate so that the bigger T3 will sit on the manafold right.

Right Paul, got that old manifold now (don't ask where it came from, its a long and painful story!). Anyway its got a bit of a crack on the inside divider part that you can see when you look into the turbo flange (can't describe it any better than that!), but it doesn't go all the way through to the outside. I reckon it could probably be welded up.

I have no idea how much stuff is worth (as Steve and Matt will no doubt testify to http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/wink.gif ) so lets say 40 quid (and if this is a totaly unreasonable price let me know!!!)
