What do you lot reckon to NSXs in general?
Anyone ever owned one??
VERY nice cars. Never owned one though ;) :D
Dave
Lovely car. Future father in law has one. Fast, handles superbly, ultra reliable and very cheap to run (apart from tyres) and almost makes up for the fact he's a garlic chomping Frenchman:cool:
Nice cars. The new one looks quite interesting too. Rather have a Skyline though :D :D

The question is...
pop-ups or not?
I personally think that they look great.... what do you think?

I'd have either as long as the badge on the back said 'NSX'
Si :)

Spoke to a guy (Ferrari owner) who had owned one for a while, aswell as an Evo6, Porche turbo etc. reckoned it was borring to drive, Evo was much more fun in his opinion.
Wouldn't mind finding out for myself though, they do seem pretty good on the Playstation:p ;)

It's a 2002 model so it has no popups.

I would say nice car though I've never driven one, but for the money (I think £70K new) I could think of much better cars to get.

Ah but.... with cars like this you don't pay anywhere near the asking price. Expect to pay closer to 55k and then think of the opposition available. Not a lot really!! Yes it's still a lot of money to spend on a car but.......

cant you apply that logic to any other 70k car then?
as for nsx's in general, style wise they are quite nice but they always look a bit girly to me... defo need an aftermarket bodykit. also i've heard a lot of people say they are dull to drive ... apparently like driving a civic with a supercar bodykit :D (and notice how a lot of owners are OAPs? well, in surrey whenever I've seen the driver anyway!) maybe a good thing, maybe a bad thing... for me, if i'm buying a sports car at that sort of price i want more interaction and a memorable experience. for £45k you can get a brand new noble m12 gto... that is one AMAZING car to drive... also how about a TVR Cerbera 4.5? You'll feel like you really are driving the car, not being taken for a drive; its fast as **** (and i mean it in the real sense not a max power fiesta 1.1 "fast" as a slight snog, and not just "pretty fast" as an NSX would be)... yes its probably unreliable and the honda is gonna be the most reliable thing since a well-baked brick but then when it works you will never want another car!
Just my thoughts :)

Not to many no. Most cars in the category are BMW/Merc etc prestige marques that don't discount that much because they can sell all they can make. Try asking for a discount on a 911 and they'll show you the door

Styling is down to personal preference, I think it's ok, but not great. They drive superbly (I've done several 100 miles in it). Remember this is a car whose handling was refined by the great Ayrton Senna, so it's not a wooses car. The fact that you can also pootle around town and to and from Sainsbury's is a bonus and in no way detract from the fact that it will pulvarise most performance cars on the twisty bits.

The Cerbera is a very fast car on smooth roads, in the dry and in a straight line. So not really a rival in this country then with the state of our roads and our weather. As you say it's also VERY unreliable and IMO only really viable as a third car. If you want fast and uncouth go for the TVR. IF you want a decent, reliable fun useable car the Honda beats it every time.
True there is a problem with image, hence why you can get such a discount but as 200 owners we should know that lack of or poor image means nothing. :)
i dont like the new ones as much, the lights dont look right. Wouldnt say no to one tho :D

i'm not knocking the handling... i'm aware it was designed with a lot of his input, but there's more to a 50k sports car than just handling, I think. it's got to be the entire experience... it's hard to explain i suppose... like comparing different beers... easier to try them :)

"third car" cheeky git! and tvr is decent, fun and useable too ... well, unless by decent you mean reliable... and it has a huge boot :D

i think in such cases if people have the resources to buy any of these cars they should try them all and buy whichever makes them happiest, irrespective of what other people think... after all its only the driver who will have to "suffer" a wrong purchase :)

So does a VW T4 Varient... doesn't mean it is entertaining tho...
I used to like TVR's until i had a close look at one. My mate has just brought a Chimera and its got a Vauxhall steering column, you even have a opel badge on the key  and its got bloody landrover badges all over the engine components. OK everyone knows its a Rover V8 but i thought they would at least removed the badges and how much effort would it take to design their own key :(
Very poor quality, the doors fell off and the window dont close fully. Thanks but no thanks :D
I think we've all missed the point here.
We should try the S Roberts method of working out which is a good or a bad car and see which car comes top for shagging in ;)
Of course, the TVR would probably fall to bits before 6 seconds was up :D :D :D

starionman, you're just being silly now :P you know I meant it was only one of the reasons for going for a Cerbera.
Nismo Mark... ignore all that... drive one :P
lets just say that I want to buy a skyline or a supra TT but that means selling the chimaera... so I think I will have to put a hold on the next car... or sell the 200sx... actually, my third plan might come to fruition... gonna buy a house with a bigger drive so i can have 3 cars plus my wife can have her car too!!! :D
JB (1) you'll be surprised how robust they are (i've done a fair few trackdays and not had anything go wrong at all) (2) there's no space for norty fun in a TVR... unless you're a hamster.

i thought TVR stopped using the ROVER V8's because they (where) owned by the german's and started using/making there own V8 and V6???????
Still stealing engines I'm afraid (to the best of my knowledge), although they are tweaked.
TVR are funny... they threatened to sue my last company for printing some owner testimony....
including the man who got locked in when all the windowns jammed and the central locking slammed shut...

The Cerbera 4.2 is there own but the 4.0 is still a Rover lump

hate to take over this originally NSX thread but...
starionman, allegedly tvr have a legal team to rival microsoft's!! mind you with the horror stories you hear, you'd need such a team to back you up! I better shut up now before I hear a knocking on my door! :D
as for V8s... the Griffith (now not made :( ) and the Chimaera (being phased out) use the TVR-tweaked Rover V8... they only kept using the Rover and producing these cars cos they were so popular, and later cars are generally more well-built as TVR learnt what was working and what wasn't. The engines are actually one of the sturdier aspects. the other cars (tamora, tuscan, cerbera and derivatives) have TVR-designed engines.
btw having a car made of other cars is a good thing. if you know where the parts came from you, dont have to go to a tvr dealer who charges double the true value ;) just visit a knowledgeable independent who will charge you a more acceptable rate.
ferrari, lambourghini and porsche use largely their own stuff (altho ferrari do stick their hands in the odd fiat parts bin!) and so things cost a lot more... and I heard recently that Ferrari has just doubled the book price on spare parts!!! i suppose if money is no object then fair enough :D
