Going to be getting a nice new build soon Jez!!

Just got some questions, getting cams, 1.8mm HG, rods, pistons and some other goodies!

Do I need to get it mapped straight away, and then get it remapped once ran in or should I just wait until its all been ran in then get it mapped??

Cheers, Sam

Best to get it run in first, so long as you're sticking with the same AFM and injectors :)

Yes will be 555's and Z32

That reminds me, can you map it to get rid of the MAF or will I require standalone?

The standard ECU only supports an AFM - you'd need a stand alone, like VEMS or a PFC, to go MAP sensor.

Am I likely to see a power gain if I go MAP?

Im probably looking for around 420bhp, with a 0.64a/r GT2871R :wack:

Kev got 394 at 1.45bar with cams on a CA so I think its possible!

You probably won't see much difference in peak power with map vs afm. Might be a bit smoother on and off the throttle with a map system.

Im not going for smooth, just wanting something raw with quick spool :wack:

Ill give you a shout when its all built and we can get it booked in for a nice mapping session

Just wondering about rev limits!

Can you set it with the standard ECU?

I want an 8k rev limit!

Thanks, Sam

I can set it to whatever you like. 8k might be pushing your luck a bit...

With the box or with the engine its self?

Im having quite a bit of work done so thought it would be able to handle it

If you run steel conrods and forged pistons the bottom end should be ok, its the head that'll need the work.

Getting it ported and polished, greddy rocker arm stoppers, ARP Head Bolts!

What other work would need doing?

Uprated springs and if you're serious, solid lash adjusters

Getting uprated springs, whats solid lash?

Definetly want a higher rev limit :D

Have a search on google - basically they replace the hyd lash adjusters, the std ones have a tendancy to pump up.

Sounds expensive!!

Might just leave it as it is or take it up to 7500rpm

Thanks mate
