After some advise if anyone can help.
I have some bubbling on my rear arches :cry: which i would like to try and remove before it get to bad.
What would be the best way to try and sort this myself as i cant afford to pay a bodyshop at the moment.
Would it be a case of sand down, some sort of antirust treatment, bit of filler to smooth off nicely, red oxide primer, smooth with wet and dry, top coat.
Also check and seal inside of rear arch.
Does that sound about right or not. Help and ideas on a postcard please.

it will always come back though the one and only way to eliminate rust for good is to cut it all out then u no its gone weld up the gap the do exactly what you mentioned but you wont need the rust killer
as he says ^^^^ but u could use the zinc primer instead!
to be honest mate, u dont wanna put filler on it at all if u can help it, it'll only act like a sponge and soak up water, better off usin a detail grinder and carfully grinding the rust out, as much as u can, anti-rust it, quick key, some sort of epoxy filler...atleast at first just to seal it and then use normal filler to shape it (depending on how big the area is) and red oxide primer will be fine as it does help aginst rust, tbh ive never used zink primers unless im welding, never needed it in painting...
...if the rust spot is small try antirusting it, one coat of red oxide and then a few coats of high build primer (make sure u give it a decent flash off between coats) and wet flat down, u might find the highbuild does enough..never fill straight ontop of a rust repair if u want the repair to last more than a few weeks.

Flash off? Drying time. How long between coats would be best?
Is the hammerite kurust anti-rust stuff any good? Will try the high build and see if it does the trick.

I've used the loctite kurust and thats good stuff:thumbs:
Make sure though whatever you do you dont leave any bare metal exposed any longer than necessary and dont leave a repair in primer and drive round with it like that as some primers wont protect against water on their own :(

Thanks for the ideas guys, will put them into practice when then weather holds out for a tew days
id be tempted not to rub it down with wet wet&dry
these 1k primers just soak up moisture so keep it as dry as possible
you will need to cut the metal out,there is no way around it unless you want the repair to last 6 months tops(and it will come back worse than if you done nothing)trust me i have tried it loads of times
if there is rust you need to cut it back to good solid metal. Whatever you do to it its gonna return :( tinworm is evil!
ull be alright with wet and drying the primer cos all primers soak up moisture, as long as uve treated the rust okay and use the epoxy to seal the area first ull b okay.
like dnfo3 says the best way would be to cut out the rusted area and weld a little plate in its place, but i thouhght u were looking for a quick solution.
flash off betwen coats? 10 minutes with a hairdryer should be good enough,
the leave it for a few hours after the last one is applyed.

Right hopefully ive got this right.
I know best way to remove rust would be cut out replace but i cant do that myself.
So hopefully this is the right sort of order to do things.
Scrape/sand remove rust.
Smooth if possible
Treat with antirust
Red oxide coat
Epoxy filler if needed
High build primer if not with 10 min drying time
Smooth with wet and dry if needed
Top coats
Wet and dry till smooth
polish

Have a few round arch lip, top to the front of rear arches :(
its annoyin that thay charge so much for it in a body shop, cant say that its even a days work for them to get rid of the rust and paint both quarters...
