Not really wanting my first post in this section to be like this but here goes :rolleyes:

Developed a missfire tonight at idle and through most of the range.
No pipes seems to be loose so will be attempting to check coilpacks and plugs tomorrow but was wondering if anyone local to Taunton would be very kind and give it a look over if they have come accross this before ?

not far away atall but not a great diagnosis man either! i usually run to apt for advice!

i did have a coilpack go once and it was quite worrying only firing on three even my girlfriends saxo went quicker!

what you driving anyway???

Its a standard white facelift S13.

Had a fiddle today and this is the latest :

Disconnectd cylinder number 1 coilpack and engine ran the same. Disconnecting the other 3 made it stall so assuming the missfire is cylinder 1 then.

Tried swapping the coil pack and spark plug with cylinder 2 but problem exactly the same :rolleyes:

Off to do a compression check tonight as the only things I can think of at the moment are headgasket, injector or coilpack wiring :confused:

Sorted now thanks chaps

Did a compression test and all came out fine so was a bit stumped so started fiddling with connectors and turns out the injector connector has about 1mm of play in it so wiggled it and now ok.

Cant really see it being worth the time, money and effort with trying to replace the injector / loom to find out which is causing it :o

On another note is the only local met the Bristol one or do some of you pop to the jap meet on the first sunday of every month at exeter services ?

have a look round you've got plymouth meet, exeter, or longwell green, possibly gonna have a meet in taunton soon?
