View Full Version : Tube Torque Exhausts
Hi,
Anyone fitted a tubetorque exhaust ? I've just been on the phone to them, they reckon they've done quite a few 200's. I need to junk my rotting back box for something half decent for my MOT retest http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/frown.gif
Anyone got one fitted, and if so what are they like ?
Cheers,
Tom

Yeah, they seem to do good quality stainless stuff. According to the website http://www.tubetorque.co.uk they do exhaust manifolds for F1, GT and all kinds !
£480+vat they've quoted me.

What sort of prices are they quoting you? I have been toying with the idea of some seriouse hp and will need a new system over 350 might consider them myself when the time comes (if ever)
£480 for a cat back, with an S14 I don't want to loose the cat really - not that I agree with all the environmental bull or anything, just the hassle of swapping a replacement pipe in and out for the MOT.
30 quid discount with NTOC membership. Seems like a nice bloke to me.
Tom
I had one fitted two weeks ago and it's absolutely knobtastic!
I ordered it via keith at NTOC and they make EXACTLY what you want. The bloke who does them is a really nice chap - he's based in Macclesfield and I took the car up there for him to do.
It's a 2.5" freeflow exhaust with a cat chucked in too - has a certain tone, it's deep and growels a bit not at all raspy and thrashy.
I was a bit 'mmmmm' to start with about the resonance, which you're bound to get with a stainless (I'm not into exhausts that make noises), but I've grown to like it - a lot!
I stormed past my mate ('94 S13) at 130-odd on a dual-carriageway last week and he said it sounds like one of those big f*** off bikes, deep and meaningful.
Not only is the service top-notch but it's cheaper than getting a mild-steel one from Nissan.
For anyone in the NTOC have a word with Keith Purdon about Mark at Tubetorque. Brilliant.

Yeah ? Sounds pretty good then, what have you got, a turbo back or cat back ? How much did it set you back ?
Tom
Mark from Tube Torque is a DUDE! I went over with a friend in his Nissan Sunny ZX about half-year ago to get some pipe work done and he was really really cool. Very nice and chatty. Would highly recommend him for anything exhaust based I guess... Now my friend has an 200sx, and we're both hiper-mufflered up, we're planning a return journey to get a downpipe sorted, and I have a sneaky feeling I might ask him to remove another silencer somewhere as the T28 hybrid reduced the noise from my friends car somewhat.. less backpressure isn't all good ...
For my '93 S13 (I notice you have an S14, Tom) I had the whole system (ie from manifold back), including CAT and one silencer, for £680.00.
And to say Mark at Tubetorque is a perfectionist is an understatement...
Excellent, cheers everyone http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/smile.gif
Looks like I should be getting a fine exhaust for my money then !
Nice one,
Tom

I've also noticed Powerflow (another custom exhaust maker) are now doing some interesting "Jap style" designs. They look rather nice actually. Unfortunately I don't think they supply the crazy 4" piping you get with an HKS, but they look the part all the same.

"I had one fitted two weeks ago and it's absolutely knobtastic!"
So you liked it then? LOL ROTFLMAO! http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/biggrin.gif http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/biggrin.gif http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/biggrin.gif

Well,
Got my tube torque exhaust today, he said "Do you want it to sound horny ?" I couldn't really argue with that. Pretty good job I reckon, nicely TIG welded up.
Ripper, I saw a photo of your one, and another S14 he's done too.
It does growl, like a caged animal. Lovely, you can hear the valve timing changing in the exhuast note, and you just want to rev it higher and higher http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/smile.gif Unfortunately I went over a brick or something on the way up and totalled a rear tyre which didn't exactly make me happy.

Hi
I had mine made up at Servicecentre design a system who will make you anything and they charged me £280 for a complete system from the downpipe back, 2.5" and the largest rear pipe you have seen 6.5". I think Dave and everyone would agree it sounds the nuts.

WTF!!! aint you worried that cats and the like will climb in it at night?!
thats damn cheap an all, wheres that place?
Paul - it was TubeTorque.
Tom - I didn't know he took pictures of them!
I hope he didn't say anything derogatory about me (ha, ha). But didn't the tailpipe fit the back of the car well? Millimetre perfect, in fact. Did you have the same as me, then (2.5" freeflow)?
And Dave - Knobtastic is only used on rare occasions. And, yes, it was THAT good!
