Can anyone recommend a performance exhaust. Please submit exhaust with price, power gains and where the best place to purchase it from.

Im running a Mongoose Stainless steel system on mine, They come in at about £350ish, and was the one I found to be the best value for money. Others on the board have HKS jobbies, a bit more expensive, but the choice is yours.

I think a zorst gives maybe 5bhp??? Not to sure.

I think that performance exhausts come into thier own, when you start turning up the boost.

aye, mongoose is what im buying, ND reckon that the difference between the exhausts is minimal, eg, the £220 janspeed will do just as good a job as the more expensive mongoose. It will just sound different and wont last forever as its mild steel, not stainless. I think you have to increase the overall exhaust bore size if you wanna go over 340bhp and then you wanna be looking at the mental systems. Otherwise, price is king, all the systems will do the same job its just down to preference.

I have a K57i and a mongoose system on. Although I have not upped the boost yet just the exhaust made quite a difference (without that nasty moggy restriction)

What did the Mongoose Systems cost you? I'm thinking about changing exhausts, is it a pain in the arse putting the CAT back on for MOT's?

My only mod is the K&N filter so far!

Norris Designs has them at £329 inc vat.
Nope, it's only four bolts to drop the cat replacement pipe out and then you can put the cat back in for MOT time.

I got a mongoose as well, has anyone else had problems with the rear mount vibrating against the back panle? it's only about 2mm clearance between them. Think I might just hack 10mm of it to shut it up.

Nathan,
Yep mine hangs to one side (ooooeeeerrrr missus). I've put a slightly smaller rubber hanger on one side which keeps it away from the bumper but still allows it to move when it needs too.

If you like loud ones I think the Apex-i N1 looks rather cool. Not TOO expensive either. The GT Spec is awesome but very expensive. I have (I think) an Apex Megaphone. I don't know how it sounds yet though.

Trust tend to make relatively quiet exhausts, at normal RPM anyway. I like the Power Extreme & Evolution best in the Trust range. HKS stuff is very good as well. None of these look "subtle" though, normally having tailpipes like dustbins http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/smile.gif

I have the HKS Hiper Muffler half-system which was £530 from ND with delivery included. Somewhat pricey but it has a splendid noise, looks great, and doesn't need replacing if you ever want to go above 300 bhp. But yes, quite pricey ...
