View Full Version : First regular Scottish meet 16th Jan (livingston)
Ok guys here is the proposal:-
We meet at Brucefield farm Brewers Fayre in livingston at 8pm on Thursday the 16th of January.
********this will be the first official regular meet arranged by the SXOC********
And it will hopefully be the start of a regular monthly meet.
If all goes well, we plan to meet at the same place and time on the 1st of every month thereafter.
Directions will be available for whoever needs them (Dunc:p :D ) Provided by myself and ThunDer.
To anyone who is new to the board, i must stress this is not a meet set up for regular posters only, nor is it restricted to modified vehicles.
Anyone and everyone is invited.
Dont worry about not knowing anyone, cos most people on here know no-one, and ull never meet anyone if u dont come along.
The purpose of this meet is to let everyone meet each other and get to know one another, and hopefully share advice and experiences of Jap car (mostly 200's) ownership, maintenance and modifying.
If ur interested in this meet, please post this on the poll, and state ur interest on a post underneath.
I cant stress enough, its not a meet for people who know each other already to disappear into a corner or clique, there are over 30 Scottish people on this bb, so far ive met 5 or 6, so everyone will be meeting somebody new.

Moz, u sure u wanna come all the way down just for a meet? its not a trackday or anything.

Yes I'll be there and bringing the woman (Cath) with me.
Simple Directions to get to Brucefield Farm (Brewers Fayre Pub) are as follows:
1. Get onto the M8 Motorway.
2. Take the Livingston A899 turn-off (can't remember the junction no. but will find out).
3. Follow the sliproad off to the left onto the A899.
4. Follow the A899 'til its end (about 2 maybe 3 miles) where you will come to Lizzie Bryce's Roundabout (BFO Roundabout with a Shell Garage on your left as you approach it from this direction).
5. Go right at this Roundabout for West Calder (signposted A71 West).
6. Continue along the A71, you will come to another roundabout (about a mile and a half along) - go straight ahead through this one.
7. Continue along the A71, this is a very short straight stretch 'til you come to yet another roundabout (Livingston for ya!).
8. Turn off left into Brucefield Industrial Estate, where there is a very short stretch of road 'til you come to a mini-roundabout.
9. Turn right at this mini-roundabout.
10. Watch out for Brucefield Farm, you turn right into it about 50 metres after that mini-roundabout.
And that's you there! Dead simple and following those directions it's about 4 maybe 5 miles from the M8 Motorway.
Its junction 3 of the M8.
And i bet Dunc still gets lost:p
Maybe some peeps that arnt sure of livi might wanna meet up at deer park (?) the one just off the junc3 slip road at the big roundabout, i could maybe meet u there and u could follow me down?

so it'll make a nice change:)

Jonny, incase u didnt read my edit, we should meet on the eurocentral sliproad on the M8 (the one 2 after coatbridge, 1 after a small one saying carnbroe)if it has a junct number, it will be either 6a or 7a.
Martin (dobergoose) will meet us there also, and probably Graeme (Gee) if he is still coming,(anyone else coming from Glasgow wanna do the same?) id say 7:20pm to give us plenty of time.(and cos ull be late or not turn up as usual ;) )
Then id plan to drive to junct 3 and pull into deer park on the big roundabout for around 7:45 for 5 mins and pick up anyone who is hanging around (dunc) so they dont get lost, then continue on to the Brucefield.
If anyone is coming but unsure of directions, or... anything, then pm me and ill pm u back my mobi number.
1 last thing, there are 10 votes for a yes of some sort, but only 9 replies ive noted, who is missing? Dunc?

Dundeeguy, Dundee is only 11 miles further away than me BTW. Could be a problem if you work late though so fair enough.

I'd love to come and meet all the other "car perverts" like myself but my 200 is off the road just now as I've been seduced by the world of cheapo winter motoring :( :o :( :(
I can't see any other way of turning up unless someone picks me up on the way past but nobody's coming from my way, or if I dump my car at somebody's gaff and jump in their car? Both these things defeat the purpose of a car meet though. If anyone knows what my other car is (shhh) then they'll understand how turning up in it is NOT an option.
I'm a bit gutted but I'll be back in for the turbo jap action ASAP. Sorry guys.

Midgers, what ever time you are leaving would be fine. You can pick me up at Cupar OR I can leave my car at my Dad's in Balmullo and meet you at the small shop on the main road. Just tell me when you'll be passing either Cupar or Balmullo and I'll be there. Cheers mate,

I spoke to Bren today and he told me that I should have the pump back on Wed or Thurs leaving me just enough time to refit it again before the car is sold.

Very very helpful, and by far the cheapest, but they want a tracker or no cigar, and thats bout £500 which makes them not so cheap.

Did you clip that yellow thing in the middle of the road (after Kev turned off and the two lanes divided for the roadworks)? I heard it thump the bottom of the me mota.... think it was a lamp off the top of one of the cones. No apparent damage tho'...... phew!

Yeah, well freaky Jonny.
Brian, my reason was my misfire from 5k upwards and the fact that 2day was the longest run its had since Crail 3 months ago, i wanna take it easy for a few days to get used to how it behaves again without pulling it back off the road cos ive fooked it, maybe in 3 weeks time though, should be more settled by then.
I thought it went brilliantly guys, great turnout for the first meet considering how many Scots posters there are on this bb, as Brian says, hopefully it will get bigger and bigger, the wee manager seemed happy bout it also.
Have to say, Jonny, Nobby and Dobergoose u guys looked superb following me up to the meet.
Finally got a convoy, and it looked great!!!:D :D :D
And Jonny, those were not camera flashes, that was defo Martins exhaust, made me well jelouse.

It was a good night I thought, partly cause I did get some big flames, my mate Andy could see them in the wing mirror, all I could see was the road lighting up behind me.
Kev you had a few small flames from the left hand tailpipe on your goose.
Johnny how the **** did you hit that yellow light, my exhaust cleared it!
I missed the discussion about a drive, but maybe next time.
The convoy was cool, rubber duck 10 4 and all that.

we kinda sorta suggested decided to make the next meetings on the 1st thursday of the month so the next one is planned for just before crail opens. 6th it'll be :D then crail on the 9th.
I just found out that work has decided to have a pissup on the first thursday of the month:mad:

I've still got loads of 200sx bits at the house, they'll be getting dumped soon so are free of charge. I'll gladly bring them to the meet:-
Jan Speed back box, standard (CAT) exhaust, white tail gate perfect glass, door. I can't remember what else, but basically most things.
I thought I'd better say before I dumped them.

thought I heard u talkin' about a horse box at the meet. My family keep horses too, well my girlf' and mum own one. I used to have a thoroughbred cross called 'Solo' but he was mental and had to go :(.

OMG! a guy who actually likes horses! :eek: Far and few between - ya gf is bloody lucky - I can't get Brian to say the word horse let alone do anything else. Won't even accompany me to a dressage test - how mean! :(
For some reason I can't talk him into hooking up the horse trailer to his MR2 either :rolleyes: :confused: I honestly don't see what the problem is ;)
My big boy (not brian :p) is a full bred Hanoverian which I have on long term loan. He can be a hand full when he’s in a strop (doesn't like getting his back end working properly - lazy - like most men ;) :D ) Apart from that I couldn't ask for a sweeter horsey :) :o

It deffo is, I need rid of some of this crap! I've actually got the full sports exhaust but it's got a CAT on it. I can just give you the lot if you want? If not the back box pipe is quite wide, but its a clamp on jobbie so if you tighten it it'll probably fit over?
Anyway if you're interested I can just give you the lot and you can play around (remove the CAT etc) and see how you get on.

my first love is definately cars and modding..... but there's nothing like the feeling of galloping on a horse, it's a differant feeling of speed from a car or motorbike coz you know you're never 100% in control!!!! I was too lazy with the whole mucking out thing tho'..... it's like a full time job in itself :rolleyes: .
