Ok, still deciding what to do, basicly the car went in for the mot and failed on a nice long list of things, most i could put right myself, but the welding im not too sure about, i have a mig welder and plenty of scrap metal from a donor s14a but im not sure i could weld up to mot standard (havent been welding long) ive been quoted £200 to have the turrets, chassi rail and a small weld behinde the rear sill,

so im wondering is there anyone in bristol that could do the welding in 10 days to mot standard? for £100? as then i might use it as a track car.

otherwise i will prob sell the car as spares/repair.

i will put pictures up either today or tomorrow, to show how bad it is.

cheers
Jay.

I've welded in the past but it's been a couple of years so I'm a bit rusty so to speak :wack:

MIG welding isn't hard, just practice on some scrap metal that is preferably the same thickness as what you're going to weld and play around with the settings till you get some decent welds going

yeah im not too bad at welding, but i just dont know if i would be able to do a good enough job - I might just have a go as ive got 10 days to do it and have nothing to loose really. does anyone know how picky it needs to be to pass m.o.t? i guess a good continuss seam weld?

They're not that picky - as you've said a good continuous seam weld will be fine

ive been naughty before.... i can weld pretty good but i had a seam go a bit splattery in the middle, i filled the gappy bits with that metal filler that goes rock hard then put some of that wax oil on it cuz they hate touching the stuff
