So it does look like the v6 is being kept (as opposed to the v8 rumours) Nice.
But this will need a bare minimum of 450 to play ball, i would prefer to see 500 though to be honest.
Would also like to see upgrade packages being available for 600 and upwards in the future.
Sounds good
Although it does say 'Skyline GTR' on that page... :D

:D If a salesman, sorry salesperson, turns round and corrects me if I use the word Skyline while looking round one, I'll knock him out and make sure his colleague gets the commision on the sale!

It's a good one to have in your arsenal to pi$$ of Skyline/GTR owners, it's sort of the equivalent of saying to a teacher 'yeah, but you have an easy life, 9-3:30 and massive holidays' :wack: :D
Looks like it's going to be quite a handy bit of kit :D
Shame I won't be able to afford one until 2019
I'll have to stick with the 1989 version for now :)
Eww @ V6. :(

This sounds like its going to be incredibly sorted from the factory!! Wonder what will happen when you free up the breathing and up the boost a bit. Hope the engine is more suited to boost than the VQ :)
anyone else think this car is setting itself up into becoming an over-hyped let-down? I don't know what it is but my reaction to this car gets more lukewarm the more I see it

Errr, I think it is a VQ, isn't it?
I mean the VQ in the Z33, haha

Maybe, i personally don't like the look of it, but I haven't actually seen a photo of a finalised version yet - i don't tihnk one's been released has it? Give us some final images, and a Tsukaba lap time, and then I'll pass judgement :D

You've been watching exit wounds!
Yeah - I'm not that keen on the looks but somehow I just get the impression that the car will be leaving the factory fairly close to it's limits. eg. The engine won't take much more boost without serious work, lots of electronics controlling/helping the chassis that is hard to change/improve etc etc which would be a great shame

It depends if the suggestion it can keep up with a 911 turbo holds true. If it can it joins a very very short list of very very quick road cars!
And I think it pretty much is the newer strengthed VQ from the Z33.
Im guessing it has increased displacement over the VQ35?
You've been watching exit wounds!
What's exit wounds?
Think the v6 in there is a 3.8
Wouldve hoped for more :(
The 997 makes do with 3.6!!!
I'm not sure if the new gtr engine is closer related to the VQ35 or the new variant (VH?) which has just appeared in the 350z. Or if it's so far removed from either, that it will get its own initial designation
Its got some kind of horrid tiptronic thing going on :(
All a man needs is a gear stick and a clutch

Im pretty Sure ive read some where its based on the V6 in the Renault Velsetis, Sory, Nissan 350Z lol But Runs about 400-450bhp With the Twin turbos Wacked on.
This is probly a repost but this is it at Nurburgring http://youtube.com/watch?v=jvDw47ZOFcM
Also, just wait for Nismo to Z-Tune it, the Last R34 Was 500bhp, this should be Nearer 600, maybe.

Just Found this, Probly an old Vid but it shows in the stats its a 3.8 450bhp. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DWNPyuuefbQ&NR Also has a pic of the concept from tokyo for people who dont know what it should look like..

tiptronic  :hurl: I'd expect it to be offered with some flappy paddle thing tbh as it seems all the rage atm but I'd also expect a proper manual to be available (hope so anyway)
Further to speculation that there will be multiple versions of the new GTR, here are some pics. Certainly brings back some of the aggression the R34GTR had!
Oversized rear pipes look crass though:(
"The standard GTR is expected to start at $57K while the V Spec and EVO Spec will start at $67K and $94K respectivly. Both a 6 speed and an advanced paddle shifting automatic are to be available. The Standard GTR and Spec V will be equiped with a 480HP version of the VQHRTT engine(displacement is either 3.7 or 3.8L as it has not yet beenn confirmed). The GTR EVO will receive a 530HP version of the VQHRTT engine as well as being roughly 220lbs lighter then the standard GTR, coming with light weight seats, a larger more aerodynamic rear spoiler, large ceramic brake rotors, and a revised Altessa AWD geared for more track use."

Am I reading that correctly and that it is only going to weigh 1270Kg (2800lb)
Who wants to lend me the money. I'm buying one :D (as long as they do get rid of those pipes at the back. Dan's right, they are :ghey: )
Am I reading that right, in America it will cost the same as a 350Z does here?
That's astoundingly ugly
But the thought of what seems to be a Porsche GT3RS contender GTR sounds very appealing

the only 2800 i see on there refer's to the wheelbase in mm i think? Don't really like it tho :(
Here's to hoping it's a grower....

TBH I'm loving the sound of the EVO version
Dunc.

1270Kg  **** yeah  :notworthy at last someone keeping cars relatively light instead of the bloaty barges we've been seeing recently
It is however an abomination to look at, rank doesn't even come close to describing that :hurl: (it doesn't help having the Porsche in the background  )

If the new gtr comes in at under 1300kg then i will be in shock....Thats a very very low weight for a performance car these days...
Its the same weight as a bloody clio

I think it looks awesome.
No way it will only be 1270kgs tho'.
If it comes in under 1500kg I'll eat my hat!
Love the look of that but you just know the EVO version wont cost £50k its going to be more like £75k which is too much!
I would guess it will weigh about as much as a R34 as they may have made components lighter but with the extra "saftey" features you have to have these days it will easily counter any weight reduction
The track based version should be caged as std like the GT3 RS IMO, what'd be fookin sweet.
Dunc.
well, I can't read Japanese, so I just saw the number 2800 along with all the performance and dimension figures and thought "could it be?" . Probably not, but if it is, then I want one. I don't mind the looks and ultimately, I wouldn't care the whole time I was behind the wheel (imagine driving a Jaguar S-TypeR and you get the idea ;) ) :)
