Righto.... Not normally my thing, but here we go.
I'm happy enough spot welding bits together, slap a skim of Fibral over it, top off with some filler and sand back. Lovely :)
But plastic bumpers have always posed me a problem. Noting sticks to them. they flex, so filler and fibre-glass crack. I've seen, dare I say it, on "Pimp my ride", the guys on there hacking different bumpers to pieces and then bonding and filling them.
What products are they using?

Hmmm... I'm sure I saw them blending a bumper from one car into a bumper from another...
Maybe they were both fibreglass?

If you find out what sort of plastic they are, there is usually a solvent that can be used to melt it in to a glue like solution, you then use this glue to stick the bits back together...
See CarPC link in my sig.
you can use a 2 pack polyurathane glue.which is basically bumper glue!!
the place i work for sells it as we are a bodyshop supplier.where abouts are you?might be able to recommend somewhere to get it.

Or, more likely, by the time the show has finished, and the 'lucky pimpee' has got his car home, the filler has cracked/ fallen out!
As you said, very few, if any, products will stick plastic bumpers together. If the two bumpers are of exactly the same type of plastic (manufacturers may name their plastics the same, but often they have slightly different compounds) then it is possible to weld them together. Otherwise, you're just going to try and bond/ glue them, with plenty of reinforcement and hope for the best.
I'm looking for the same info fella,
a couple of useful links i've found so far:

Fillers: No idea if these are any good though

Would using mesh to reinforce the firbeglass matt and stop the paint cracking help at all or would it make no difference?
