Hi
I had a play with my nephew's acoustic guitar today, playing an intro book's tunes and also freestyle with chords :) (easy to you guys but i was dead chuffed!) Was good fun, but after 2 hours of pressing the strings to the fretboard my left hand fingertips are quite sore... now is this cos the guitar is cheap or acoustic? or is it to be expected? and is cheesewire usually used for guitars?
not a problem if its normal cos it will mean my left hand's fingers will be great for doing snake strikes kung fu style! (and until i get a guitar I will tickle a house brick :D )
another thing is that i get the feeling that by playing a guitar on your own you miss something... I'm a keyboard player so I can play a whole piece using both hands and it gels nicely whereas when playing a tune on a guitar it just lacks bass or a melody or some sort of accompanying tune... am i right in saying that to really appreciate a guitar especially an electric one I'd have to jam with other musicians? (or record my own backing tracks with the keyboard?)
Still, I'm definitely gonna buy a guitar!
cheers.
