Hi guys,

I was just wondering if anyone knew which oil/air filter to get for my JDM 180SX (SR20DET) - Are they UK S13 or UK S14 bits,

Cheers,

Chris

oil filter i just grab from any motorfactors, just say its for the sr20. The air filter is your choice and you need s14 fitting.

Can anyone confirm which filter I need? It is an JDM sr20det 180SX (1996). If not I will probably end up finding out tomorrow one way by trial and error, and let you know!! ;)

 I can............ Nissan Micra K11 :wack: (March in Japan)

Seriously, It's not the same as the UKDM CA18 or SR20, it's a different size and thread.

Edit: thinking about it i'm almost sure it's a Unipart GFE285 or it could be a GFE298 (I should know i do work there :wack: )

But check this out (http://www.powerenterpriseusa.net/main/engine/oil_filter/oil_filterNISSAN.htm), to confirm by original part numbers, that they're different.

i remember the box say Primera sr20de on it

Oil filters will generaly fit loads of different engines from a specific manufacturer between certain dates. See above Edit

Ah thanks, So I am looking for a filter for a March/Cube/Largo... Were these sold in the UK? - It's just I was going to pop to halfords and well if it's not on their list.......

Cube/Largo not officialy and we call the March a Nissan Micra................

Basically your after a '92 onwards Nissan Micra K11 1.2 oil filter

Edit: K11 1.3 or K12 1.2

and whilst i'm in the editing mood............ DON'T GO TO HALFRAUDS........... seriously they know nothing. Go to your local motor factor (i work for Unipart/Partco so i'll have to recommend them but any will do)

Hi guys went round to Petrol's yesterday, and it seems to be the same diameter as one off his S14, so I was going to get one for that but was waylaid, however I may try nissan in the week, cause at that price it'd be even cheaper than halfords!!

I went to Nissan last week and asked for a 180sx SR20 oil filter and they gave me a tiny one which they jokingly said was also off a Micra, so I'm still confused :wack:

Perhaps a few of them have the same threads and work ok :wack:

CA18DET oil filter fitted my red top perfectly

I used a uk spec S13 one on my 180 too, and it fitted fine

Yeah they do actually. Most 'older' Nissan's (including 180SX CA & SR) use 3/4-16 UNF thread. Most newer models (including S14, S15) use an M20 x 1.5 thread.

Fitting fine and doing the correct job are two different things though......... not that yours is necessarily doing a bad job but i like to fit the exact right thing.
