A Question about Shins

OK, so what shape are shins meant to be?
I've always thought they were, well, bone shaped...
But I've got a bloody great ridge running down one side of each one... Almost like it's an off-true triangle...

That's what I use my little toe for -but only when its dark and I got no shoes or socks on

sounds like mine. altho mine's not a smooth ridge... it's kinda dented... for some odd reason i used to jump on furniture when i was younger and occasionally would slip off, grinding shins down wooden edges. still, makes them tougher than the average shin... in sparring practice i could meet shin with shin and just stop to watch my competitor crumple to the floor in pain!
