Bought some Starion wheels off Mitch a couple of weeks ago, and the plan was to sling some crappy tyres on them and use them as drift rims.
But once I got them home, and realised howcool they are in a wierd 80's kinda way, I thought they deserved better.

Thery will still be drifty rims, just not shitter's

Fronts are 7Jx16 ET18
Rears are 8Jx16 ET-10 (thats minus ten ;)

So, the fronts as I got them and as they still are now (forgot to take pics of the rear).

Not pretty as you can see. Thats a buggerload of red paint under gaffer tape :wack:

The rears. Wirebrushed down to metal, and then wet n dry'd (variying grit's) and then the rim polished using Autoglym Metal polish.

Only rough at the minute, still most of the spokes to go, and a re-sanding of the rim is required as I missed a few bits, and the polish shows them up pretty bad :(

The only advice I could give would be dont use a wire brush on a drill, it takes ages to sand out the damage it does :(

Nice one :) Had thought about doing the centres of mine black and making the rims a bit shinier, but I'm far too lazy atm!

I'm not sure what colour to go for on the centres :(

I like the idea of black as the car is black, but my brother reckons gold like the Volks etc. Could look quite funny, but it would have to be the right shade of gold. And It would have to be available from halfords in a £3.99 rattle can

TBH, I've still got a tin & a half of satin silver knocking about, so the centre will probably end up in that with polished rims

Oh, btw, I'm usually pretty lazy about these sorts of things too, but once you get stuck in, its quite good fun :wack: (maybe I need to get out more :( )

Right, haven't got round to painting them yet, but needed to get the tyres on as they are going into storage at my old dears house, and need to take up as little room as possible.

And I thought seeing as the rears have tyres, I'll give them a trial fit :D

Way off :wack:

I'm pretty sure those are magnesium. I made a thread about them ages ago as was thinking about fitting some. They're awesome wheels!

Really? Cool :) They do seem a litle soft anyway, out of the 6 I have 4 lose air because of the rim being slightly bent in places :wack:

Yes, magnesium is very soft! But also very light :D Which might also be why the wire drill attachment affected them so much...

I've been having a think and the only way I can get them to look right is with more of a stretch tyre and a slight arch flare :)

I need higher sidewall tyres too, as the 205/45's make my car look much higher than it really is ( I really dont want to lower it anymore :( )

Sooooo, before I fit them as road wheels, I'm going to drift the tyres that are on there and find a better size, and then go about painting/finishing them and getting the arches sorted :)

But cheers for the comments, and cheers to Sambo for giving me the idea :D

 Great help actually :notworthy

I'd love to run the 205/45's but I'd have to lower my car another inch at least, and I really cant imagine driving it everyday at that  Its not exactly high at the moment anyway :(
