View Full Version : the short shifters.
Hi
Did the rattle in the shifters that happens around 6krpm ever get sorted or find a cure ?
Thanks
Not sure if it's the same one, but I bought one from Apex towards the beginning of 2006.
Some people mentioned that the rattle at 6k disappears over time and this has proved true with mine (approx 10k miles).
Cheers

when u guys say these rattle......do you mean when u blip the throttle a little (whilst in neautral and foot off the clutch) does it make like a rattly/grindy kind of noise (sorry for the sh*t description of noise)

nope mine doent rattle either
Mine rattles at those revs big style. Also quite stiff to get into second when cold.
my apex one used to rattle at 5-6k until i wrapped the lever in insualting tape and stuffed a couple of strips of packaging foam at the front and back of the wee square hole (so the lever rests against it when in gear). job done
