I have just bought a mondeo and spent the last 2 days cleaning interior as the last owner was a smoker and a slob so very grimey.I have used a vax machine on the carpets and seats which seem to have come up well but not perfect.I need to do the headling which is very dirty is there any really good products to use??Also i need to clean the plastic door panels down which are also grimey i have used soapy water but didnt seem to attack the dirt??

Autoglym, they've got something for everything. Can't remember what i used in the sx interior but the previos owner was a heavy smoker too. :hurl: i partly dismantled the dash when i hoovered the thing out also. I just remember spraying foam onto the carpets etc , then attacking lightly with a little scrubbing brush.
The vinyl and rubber cleaner wouldbe good on the door panels, even somekind of citrus spray cleaner would cut through the dirt on vinyl. (found asda lime kitchen spray worked ages ago :D ) You basically need something to cut through grease on the shiny surfaes and shampoo for the carpets etc.
Good luck.
