View Full Version : Boost (near euff 14-15psi) with no Bleed Valve. STRANGE!

hey u guys, ever since I;ve taken the SE-Nissan bleed valve off I've still somehow, been managing to run near enough 15psi. The reason I took it off is because I think the motor was leaning out due to excessive boost and not enough fuel (hence the pump I'm gonna fit tonight). hence the flat spots and hesitation. (car was trying to hit 17psi)

Now that I've removed the bleed valve and stuck on the original vacuum pipe the car drives 10 times getter and feel more punchy

Can someone explain. I thought I may have a leak somewhere but after checking all pipe work (vacuum pipes etc) things underneath seem fine.
And after chasing you guys yesterday and still keeping up with you I was surprised.

All i've done is exhaust, filter, decat pipe, and FMIC.

Paul (UK200sx) you had even asked me yourself on the way to Bov 'what the hell is under there'

Seriously , I've done nothing for the above (except new valves and re-ground exhuast valves) but that was done when I bought the car nearly 2 years ago. Since then I've put on 25K on the clock. That wouldn't contribute to it? would it?

Can't wait till I fit the pump.

Adding an exhaust and filter would have upped your boost!

As would the FMIC - colder air is denser meaning more boost.

I know that,

But I'm hitting 15psi solid, unless my gauge is inaccurate (but when tested with SE-Nissans BIG FAT MAHOUSIVE GAUGE they use, it was near enuff spot on.

I fit the pump tonight anyway so I shall drive it afterwards and then fit the bleed valve back on (which will put me back to 16psi)

I'll let u know the results

Have you checked the actuator to see if it isn't faulty, that could be holding back till 15psi. Just a thought .....

that did concern me actually

how would I know if the actuator is faulty. wouldnt it keep boosting higher.

It literally gets to 14/15psi on my gauge andholds boost well until 6K then drops off asnormal
