View Full Version : France...
Does anyone know the cheapest/easiest way to get to France? I've had an offer to go over there for a short break.

I usually bimble over to Calais on the Eurotunnel once a month to get me beer and fags and it costs about £35.
Of course it all depends on where you are and how you're travelling, the ferries are usually much cheaper but obviously take much longer to cross. I like the 30 min drive to Folkestone, 35 min crossing time and bing there I am lost in France again.

Course it also depends where you're going to, Calais is good for Paris area. nice easy drive not too expensive if you use the toll roads etc.

That's not bad, i was expecting the tunnel to be quite alot more than that

Beer and Homosexuals is not a good combo... :D
For those that are not in tune with US lingo a fag is a homosexual man. If you didnt know that before then well... you need to get out more and become internationally culturized.

No I'm afraid we'll have to stick with the Queen's English cos I could never get used to calling my trousers pants or the bumper on my car a fender or a lift an elevator, or an arse a fanny cos over here a fanny is something entirely different.
Talking of strange US usage of English has any one else ever noticed that the guy who wrote the score on Buffy is called Thomas W*nker, what the hell is that all about.

I'm off to France for the day on Monday for a lot of booze hic hic:D
£5 return for a car and up to 4 passengers... how good is that???:D:D:D
Its on the ferry, but will have a car full of booze he he he:D :p:p
Oh and I'm not taking my car either as once you've put two crates of anything in the boot the bloody things full:rolleyes:
How long are you going for, Ant? Prices vary depending on how long you'll be away.
I've always booked my crossings through http://www.ferrysavers.com - they offer you price comparisons for your chosen route and I've found them quite useful :)
Take care with tunnel prices, as day return (cheap) tickets will not get you back 2 days later.
Tried it and it cost £100 per car to get back across :(
