Hi guys,
Some of you may know I have now moved to Bristol. I'm 'squatting' :wack: at my mates at the mo and really need my own place!
Anyone near Bristol Centre/ Emmerson's Green know of any flats for rent? Fairly cheap would be good as I just started a new job!!
Thanks in advance!!
Leo
Are you looking for a flat on your own or to share?

ian's place is in Filton, best bet would be to PM him (ian_t)
nope unfortunalty, my rooms have been taken for 4 months now and 6 months before that :)
renting a flat will be a fortune id expect around 750-900 per month for a decent flat and 550-650 for something falling apart with damp and rats. Also avoid victorian places as youll never heat the thing (a lot of places in bristol are too old). With bills on top you could be paying just shy of £1000 per month renting a decent flat.
for a flat-share youll be looking at 350-400 taking in to account bills.
Actually, ian williams (remember him rob) is completing on a house in st-wursburg on the 14th of march and he is looking to rent 2 rooms out, he also has a garage you can use for the SX. If your interested? He also has a spare room in his current rented place you could prob stay for free until they exchange contracts. BTW st-wursburg is walking distance to the city centre and the house is costing ian £180,000 ;) nice modern 3 bed semi with huge double rooms and prob around 260per month plus 1/3rd of bills.

That sounds pretty good. I work in Emmersons Green so that would be great! I wish I had a sx to put in the garage!!
Thing is, I want to buy a sx but I want a flat aswell! What do I go for!!!????
The SX
Just think of how much dead money there would be renting a flat if you get in a house share you save 2/3rds the money, get to live with cool people and can bank the saving so that eventually you can get a deposit to buy a flat!! Either that or spend on mods :D. SXs are very expensive cars to run, maintain and especially mod. If I had rented a flat in bristol by this point I would have no SX and no house.
I can send you a PM when Ian completes on the house if you fancy going to look around it.

Cheers Ian, that would be brilliant!!
Right apparently he moving in on the 5th of march. But he is dubious about taking someone on straight away as the place needs a lot of painting and decorating. So I said what about painting the room, acquiring the bed and furniture (2days tops) and then offering half rent or something till the whole house is done up; the kitchen was done by the previous owner only a year ago, he just needs the carpets replacing with laminate wood and the walls painting. He said hed think about it  lol no pleasing some people. In the mean time dont stop yourself looking gumtree is pretty good but unfortunatly most places in bristol are not. I saw some nice one bedroomed bedsit style flats for 475 a month in a property mag but then you still got council tax at 110 a month plus another 100 of bills so i still believe a house share would be the way to go until you can afford to buy outright cut down the dead money  . Just finding a good'en thats the problem.
