Tools/Skills Repository

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just a suggestion at this stage...

I'm shamelessly robbing this idea from other regions but with a little twist. Other areas have lists of useful/rare tools that can be borrowed. How's about people list up jobs that they're willing to help out with?

People without mechanical skills are also welcome to help out if you want to learn how things work (we all start out somewhere just like I did a few years ago) or if you can supply tea and are up for a laugh, everyone's invited

One of the best things about the SXOC is when people help each other out so let's keep it going in the new West Country region

I have an SXOC gearbox input shaft for handy clutch changes and have done a few now so know my way around them.

Also got the usual suspects for a toolkit.

I am usually willing to help out with most anything involving the spanners bar bodywork/painting or an engine rebuild and can travel over providing the distance isn't too great. Failing that if you want to come to me I'm fine with that. Not so great when it comes to electrickery.

ive got most things including a 1/2inch snap-on impact driver, which most large bolts quake in fear of im usually only available weekdays though (unless i get written permission from she who must be obeyed.... lol)

Just bought a snap-on scanner so you with obd-2 ports i can have lots of fun finding problems and actuating all your actuators from my new toy....

I'm not too bad with the electriccery stuff within reason and can do most medium mechanical stuff too like brakes, alignment kit, suspension, possibly welding depending on if the welder is available from work, stuff like that.

I can do a few things. Clutch changes and most electrical jobs aren't a problem. Most of the other mechanical jobs I can do to. I have a narrow garage (just wide enough to walk around the car) and will travel (within reasonable dist, or further if you pay my petrol money :wack: ). Can help out with body prep but I've never done any spraying (would be keen to have a go if given the chance though :smash: :wack: ). I can weld (MIG, TIG and stick) but it's been a while since I've done any

Not got many tools of my own though

Highly proficient in the fine art of drinking tea.
Have dry workspace with enough room to store 20 cars, engine crane, most tools you'll ever need on a nissan, parts for virtually all s bodies.
Also pretty handy with the spanners, can do everything from an engine rebuild down. Used to work for a 200sx specialist as a technician.
Happy to help out anybody, and can travel if tea is provided!

Not the easiest guy to get hold of in a hurry, and I don't do mornings!

Moonhead and Mattlake would cower at my nylon ties greatness!
