(You know I only make these posts because they're expected of me ;) :D )

Went to the cash n carry with my mate the other day and came out with 6 bottles of Cane Traders rum for £40 :D  :D

Anyway, thought I'd post my limted expertise on brands of rum, following my in-depth examination of same :D

I'll save a bit of typing lol. They're all pretty much OK except for Sainsburys own dark rum...it has no flavour :( Even the Cane Traders stuff is OK so that gets my vote tonight, since it only cost me £6.67 a bottle :D

(BTW I bought it on Tues and I still have 5 bottles left - anyone want to run a sweep on whether I have to make another visit before xmas :D )

I had some fantastic rum a few years ago, 151% proof. Couldnt really drink much of it without falling over. :D

It was great for parties, hand out shots of it and watch peoples expressions when they realised they couldnt feel their mouth any more.:D

Wasn't Walter Hicks made by the St.Austell brewery was it Steve. That stuff is nice, but its a bit like rocket fuel.

Bacardi 151. 75.5% by volume.
The bottle has a flash guard on the top and it used to only cost $10 a bottle.

Yup, 151 is definatly yellow-ish.

Did your one have a metal mesh flash guard over the top of the bottle?

Rum, Lime and Ginger's one of my faves at the moment.
Sounds a bit wierd, but I can highly recommend it.
well worth the wierd looks you get ordering it at the bar :)

I drink rum and ginger in the winter, but have never tried it with lime in! Is that line cordial, or a piece of lime? I have the cordial downstairs, could give it a go later to see if I like it :D

Used to drink rum n peppermint when I had a cold....tasted like it *should* be helping! :D

Started bottle no 2 tonight...8 days to go till christmas and still 4 un-opened ones....it may well last :) Also had 14 bottles of wine delivered tonight  so I can always slum it and drink wine if I need to :D
