Well as you might have noticed from my sig, I've got rid of the Pug 106 diesel. I simply couldn't handle the 58 Shetland pony power through the front wheels any more, so I got rid of that and got myself a Renault Megane 1.6 RXE to run about to work in. I'd only had it a week, when on my way to work in the dark, I came across two deers standing in the road, damn inconsiderate if you ask me. I didn't get much of a chance to brake, and must have hit them at about 55 mph, hit the one that was standing on the white line in the centre of the road with the offside of my car, and then it started to spin around, and then I hit the other one, the one that was standing just on the road with the back end of the car. Thankfully I managed to get the car back under control and just kept it from going into the trees along the side of the road. And you know the funny thing? When I walked back down the road, both of the deers had run off!     Of course I was just going to make sure they weren't in pain too much... ;) Neither myself or my brother were hurt too much, just sore from the impact. The car was written off before the insurance company even saw it, because when I told them it needed new bonnet, front bumper, front wing, drivers door, offside headlamp, indicator, foglight, nearside rear passenger door, and probably a good respray, they decided on the phone to write it off! I'd paid £3,500 just seven days before for the car, but they refused to give me anything more than the £3,050 that I managed to get them too, they said that it wasn't what I'd paid for the car, even such a short time before, but what it'd cost me to replace it. I was      !!! Anyway, now got myself a nice Nissan Primera 2.0 eGT saloon, on an 93L, for £1,600, then got four new tyres thrown in, and because of problems with the oil feed to the cams and not being able to fix the radio, the guy at the car sales place let me have it for £1,500 and has thrown me in a warranty too, so I'm very happy. It's good to be back with Nissan again. :D

And for Ripper, it's front wheel drive, through a five speed manual gearbox, has 150 bhp, but again, it's not scrabbly at all, because the car is black! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Ouch
but £450 is cheap to get off with no injuries and no dead deer... You were bloody lucky

Yeah, I know mate, it could have been much worse than that. :) And it's got me back onto Nissan's again.

But at least if the deer were dead he could have sold them to the local butcher;)

Did you report the deer for leaving the scene of an accident? The feckers always get up and run off without leaving their insurance details or anything:mad: ;)

Ten-pin bowling, I'm afraid. Thought it might be a bit more subtle than a quote from "Death Race 2000"...

Hmm up the Brick yard hill by chance Spooky?

Good choice of car by the way I like the Egt and they are reasonably rapid

i had the 2.0 lx on an M plate a good few years ago, and actually prefered it for comfort and drivability to any other car ive had, especially at 100+ speeds, much more stable than my 200's have been.
Could do with a tad more power though.

First up H, 666 number of posts!

And no mate, I've seen a couple of muntjack deer up there, but these were proper full sized deer, and it was along the A1198 the other side of Caxton, just coming out of Longstowe.

Yeah, the eGT is 0-60 in 8.4 secs and top speed claimed of 137 mph, so it's going to be a useable car, and most people won't know that it's that quick. :D

Well it's got 150 bhp, the SR20DE engine, and it's really comfortable. The suspension is quite stiff, so it should be good on the handling, but the seats are so comfortable, but also grip you in place. Add to that electric windows all around, electric sunroof, central locking, electric mirrors and plenty of space, so it'll be good for the daily commute to work. Plus it should get somewhere in the region of 35 to the gallon, so I'll like that.
