maybe because its deemed not suitable?

Whatever the reason a PM to a mod or area rep would be better than stamping your feet, throwing toys and spitting dummies publically

Thats a convoy

cruise, Crooze, krooz etc are chav fests, meets (at the same place with similar/same cars) are for the enthusiast, its the same but with out the burnouts, driving like a tit etc for the meet. the general public see both as the same though.

Little offended by some of the comments but im not gonna let it get to me.

Sorry if it came across as a cruise! but it's nothing like that, personally I hate all the chav's that are killing any chance of us having genuine chilled out enthusiast meets!!

For the past year now through teamOsaka and handfull of other south wales based sites myself and a few others have been arranging Performace japanese car meets (with a lack of 200sx') so thats why I put the post up.

Im not gonna get in a huff over this but I thought i'd make a point about what i was posting! Im a big fan of the 200sx and for the past few months have been trying to find a way how I could get a S14a but the first house has taken priority, for the time being!!

cruise, Crooze, krooz etc are chav fests

Sorry dude but I completely beg to differ. Anyone that's met me will no doubt notice how far away from a "Chav" I am. But I do enjoy a GOOD cruise. Burnouts, handbrake turns and such are unnacceptable in my eyes but if I'm honest, I go to a lot of Cruises and I just don't see them.

Just because people choose different cars and different styles of modification (be they tasteful or not) doesn't justify the instant stereotyping into a chav. Par example: This Fiesta (http://www.piman2k.com/images/steelcity06/20.jpg) was at Rotherham. Beautiful car, and the chap was absolutely sound.

I just get a bit fecked off on here when it comes to cruises. People seem to forget to realise that there was a time when they will have loved going to them. It's convenient.

It's not a rant at you Monkey dude! It's just an observation about the general club attitude. Cruises are the ONLY type of meeting that will ever aid in keeping the entire modified and customisation scene together. If we all just did same car meets, well, it wouldn't be very interesting.

Interesing subject!

I think most of us here don't consider ourselves to be part of the "modified and customised" scene. I know i don't.

I don't modify, or customize my cars - I tune them. If the car ends up being modified or customised from what it was when it left the factory then so be it - but tuning has a purpose, to improve, to make faster - wheras "mods and custom stuff" tends to not have much of a purpose, infact most if it seems to be done just for the sake of it. (put 19's and a massive body kit on a 1,1 corsa, for example)

The modified and cutom scene has a very bad rep compared to the genuine tuning scene (thanks to mags like max power) and i am afraid you are just gonna have to deal with that rep.

Sorry, but I really fail to see how this is any different whatsoever to an illegally organised cruise.

Have you contacted the owners of the retail park that you tend to flood with cruisers for permission to use said car park? My guess is no, maybe you'd like to confirm. You're not there for the purposes of shopping thus you are trespassing, plain and simple.

As for moving on somewhere else well lit and private - let me guess, a Tesco car park? Let me guess, you've not asked permission from the land owner and let me guess, most of your meets end up with you getting chucked off by the rozzers?

Maybe I've got this all wrong, and if I have I apologise - but the way you have laid this out IS NO DIFFERENT to any other the other Krooze Massive bollocks that unfortunately gives us all a bad name and makes it difficult for anyone who tries to organise the more legitimate events - you know, the ones where you don't have donut competitions

I agree, you need permission from the land owner and police before having an event like this. The Reading meet has both and has very very little trouble (the only trouble comes from the french shitboxes doing burnouts to 'show off' the other side).

(put 19's and a massive body kit on a 1,1 corsa, for example)

You see dude, you're at the very centre and hard point of the problematic divide between the two scenes.

Billy in his Corsa will fit a bodykit and big wheels to his car because it makes it look different, and sometimes (not always) good.

He can't afford to buy a more powerful car because of his insurance as he's young. So he's flamed by people in our category of car because he covers it in bits to make it unique.

Yet, if he does "tune" his Corsa, be it an induction kit, an exhaust, a set of cams, he's still flamed by our category and is simply told to buy a faster car. :annoyed:

Talk about the ultimate catch 22.

I don't judge anyone by the car they drive. I'd rather socialise with a decent bunch of down to earth, level headed cruisers than a possie of folk who have the stinkin' attitude of "It's not fast, so there's no point". Not saying anyone here has, just pointing it out.

I tune my car as well. But I customise it. Everyone who changes a car from the original manufacturers specification has modified their car. Put as many posh words to it as you want, modifying is modifying.

Arry, there are loads of meets on here done on land without the landowners permission.

The only thing I will grant anyone flaming cruising in this topic is the fact that unfortunately, there are occasions where cruises attract Barry Bellend and his chavtastic mates who are intent on handbrake turning their 1.2 Clio. That genuinely is bad.

But you can't tar everyone with the same brush because they don't drive a 200SX, a Skyline, or something worth "tuning".

Ain't a rant Butuz, it's jsut the other side of the story that the SXOC conveniently forget. Like the way no one on here plays on the public road..................

Wookie
07-02-2007, 14:40
There's a divide because people have the choice to decide what "scene " they want to be part off, and the SXOC is not part of the cruise scene.

If you want to be part of that scene then good on you, that's the choice you have made, but don't expect everyone else to conform to your social choices.

I don't think anyone on here judges anyone else on what car they drive, we all had to start somewhere:nod: and there are site's for those people to interact, it's just this isn't one of them. So If you would rather "socialise with a decent bunch of down to earth, level headed cruisers than a possie of folk who have the stinkin' attitude" then feel free to do so, Im sure it will be the SXOC loss:indiff:

Richy_Boy

Isn't it incredible how you can so radically change the meaning of a statement by omitting a single line. Just for you sir, I shall quote my own post with the line you have conveniently forgotten:

I'd rather socialise with a decent bunch of down to earth, level headed cruisers than a possie of folk who have the stinkin' attitude of "It's not fast, so there's no point". Not saying anyone here has, just pointing it out

I am not trying to get anyone here to go to a cruise, nor am I trying to convince people that cruising is the best thing ever. I'm simply trying to enlighten people as to the fact that stereotyping never works, and most certainly not in the cruise scene.

Anyway, clearly my overwhelming popularity is working to my advantage yet again. It just seems that on this board it's very easy to slate something without giving any justification, or even experiencing it for yourself.

Yet when it comes to someone trying to bring up the other side. Well, that's just madness isn't it! :wack:

So is that to say that last nights hugely successful and entertaining Jap meet in Bedford should not be on here? We were in Asda car park  We hadn't asked anyone if we could be there

What's the difference between a meet and a cruise? Someone argued a while back a meet was similar cars. Nothing similar between my SX and the Colts that were there :D

Ok, this is again turning into a debat (mods, chalk this one up for your meeting).

A question:
If I were to organise a meet with a selection of sports cars, in a teco cark park without permission, in your opiion would this be an 'illegal cruise'?

If so, how many of the SXOC meets that go on throughout our regions are 'illegal cruises' under a different banner - 'meet'?

Just because a youngster might call it a 'cruise' to project a cool image to drum up numbers elsewhere, doesn't make it the neon flashing, burn-out, tits out, bass-a-thumping chav fest that immediately springs to mind... does it? For a post or thread to be moderated in such a manner seems a little heavy handed to me

In my mind, an illegal cruise is an organised meet of cars/people in one place. Once there, the organisers hand out maps or spread by word of mouth the 'true' location of the cruise and they all fook off there. I believe it's done to keep the police in the dark as much as possible.

For instance, KroozTelford/KroozMidz used to organise these cruises, a bunch of cnuts would meet in badly modified cars in a local supermarkets car park and then they'd fook off to one of the many nearby trading estates and race their cars into the early hours, much like a very poor mans Fast & Furious.

A blatant chav/cock-fest cruise is one of the ones that are advertised with dodgy 'graffix' and spelling and turn out to be:

the neon flashing, burn-out, tits out, bass-a-thumping chav fest

I am quite prepared to accept that there are many 'cruises' that are exactly the same as a 'meet'.

Right mate, NOW I get you. In which case there I totally agree with you, that's utterly unnacceptable. I don't mind participating in a meeting and then onto a final location (it's cheeky I know), but if I end up at an event where there's bellend after bellend ****in' around, causing a nuisance and causing a danger then I invariably bail out, and it doesn't go on my site.

Although I don't mind the music there, as long as it's not pissing anyone off.

Which is what, a pub meet?

Well, it's a whatever you like meet - on Monday, we had a drink in the pub then stood in the car park for 2 hours going over cars and mocking Matty :D

bluewater! well it was...

Well, Graham had actually seeked permission to be there - and there's a bit of difference between having TWO car clubs worth of cars, to advertising on every forum everywhere - that's eventually what happened, and look what happened to the BW meet?

Like? (Just so I can avoid them of course :D)

Like all of the Welsh meets, they are usually at a services or Ikea.
I can't imagine for a minute that any of them have even been approached by the reps to ask if it's ok.

That team osaka website looks ok its 90% performance japcars, what makes SXOC so special?
I think all that laid into TECH were out of order, get off your high horses, and give him the benifit of the doubt.
We (well I haven't been for a while but we meet at Cardiff Gate services, and recently at ikea permission wasn't asked to meet at these locations? So was it a cruise?
Also I have seen video footage of all of the welsh chaps after the meet hammering it through Cardiff/Newport tunnels??? Some may class this as Cruising? I just think of it as a convoy so where is the problem?

Just because a youngster might call it a 'cruise' to project a cool image to drum up numbers elsewhere, doesn't make it the neon flashing, burn-out, tits out, bass-a-thumping chav fest that immediately springs to mind... does it?
Rich

Tits out ??, hey, i'm all for that, cruise or not ! :) Bring on the boobies!

Glad someone broke the seriousness of this thread up, all getting far to technical for my liking, definition of the definitions of the definition and all that.

And for my 2p worth, all sxoc (Dare I say meets:wack: ) in my opinion should be exempt from justification and definition examination on here, due to the fact this is the SXOC website:annoyed: everything else sucks monkey butt until proven otherwise.....
So I suspect the decision to delete the thread was based on a safety defence against involving people on here in something that could turn out to be a nuisance or disturbance to the general public. Not to say it would of been, But Perhaps due to it being an unknown quantity and all that.

Glad someone broke the seriousness of this thread up, LOL at all the bickering on this thread :D

While you lot have been bitching Tech and myself have been exchanging pm's , so just to clarify :

The meet is not a cruise  The initial meet location has been changed to somewhere less associated with cruises but still easily found by people that are not familiar with the area

The meet will be moving to a second location but this is purely in the interests of protection from the weather

Hope that clears things up

I know that this is nothing to do with Welsh meets but I CAN say the the Cheltenham meet does have the landowners's permission.

I was the person who got it. Must get to one again.

As for the osaka meet, from a business point of view it is a good idea becuase they can promote their company with all the people and cars they will be dealing with, IMHO if it goes well then good for them all it takes if for the TW@ts that turn up and drive like utter w@nkshites to spoil things and tar it with the sh1t stained "badboy racer stylee cruise" brush.

Arry in bieng wrong shocker!

My Reading jap meets were at a retail park and had little or no trouble.
They were not seen as illegal as there was no complaints in three years and i never got land owners permission.

The police were informed each month and they would remove any trouble makers who were "interrupting a social gathering" as they put it but they never had to because the average age if you only put on select sites was over 30!!

Also i only ever invited J Tuner and Honda UK never any max flower type mag thus again limiting the fool count

My advice is
Inform the cops as there a good bunch if kept informed.
Hammer the point that it is a static car meet with no entering or exiting like a fool.
Get a couple of the bigger lads to help with security if you do get said fools.
Lead by example by not acting the fool your self because you run it.

Pm me if you need any advice

Hope it all works out
