View Full Version : Godspeed Anti Roll Bars

Hi Guys

I am pleased to offer you Godspeed Uprated Anti Roll Bars.

The anti roll bars are a super upgrade for any 200sx whether you have other supporting mods or you are completly standard. The 200sx standard anti roll bars are not really up to scratch and makes the car feel sloppy when cornering. These uprated anti roll bars reduce the roll of your car vastly, and makes your car feel more planted and more responsive when turning.

The front anti-roll bars are a massive 30mm in diameter and the rear is also an impressive 28mm in diameter. Compared to the standard front and rear , and even whitelines 27mm front and 20mm rear.

The anti roll bars are also powder coated to reduce corrosion and to ensure a longer life.

The anti roll bars come with new chassis mounting bushes, but don't come with new droplinks. However I can supply new droplinks with poly bushes for a little extra. I would highly recommend the new droplinks as the standard Nissan items normally break when trying to remove them.

Godspeed Anti Roll Bars £150 the pair
Droplinks with poly bushes £50 the whole set

Hi Kris

Yes mate, I currently have these on my car and a few other 200 owners have been running them. Overall the response has been very positive, they are definetely a very worthwhile upgrade :)

Sibbers
26-01-2007, 17:57
Sibbers mini review: f*cking awesome

IMO they feel like the settings I used on my whiteline bars, which was soft (or medium) up front (stiff settings caused too much under steer even with the tyres I had which were excellent) and stiff at the rear.

In terms of grip you can have loads more by using smooth steering or throttle inputs, but at the same time you can get it out of shape by steering too much or giving sudden inputs so, imo, best of both worlds. The amount of extra confidence they give is unreal - they actually make my car feel too slow now because it handles so well. The best thing is that when it goes out of shape its not scary at all and I don't ever do that 'too much counter steering' thing I sometimes did before fitting them (I partly blame my crappy open diff for that, but its solved the problem anyway).

What can I say, I love 'em. Once again, best mod I've done and I'm really enjoying my car again (although I have been caning the petrol a bit so I should calm down I think! :wack:)

Great work Dan.

From what I can tell the Whitelines rust like buggery which I hate after spending good cash.

Are the uprated ARB's recommended for people with stiff Coilovers, there is some thought that it is not a good idea?

The ARBs stop the independant reaction of the stiff coilovers.
I suppose the c/o take on the function of the ARB as such. There is even talk of removing them completely.

That would be crazy :wack:

Coilovers do a different thing to ARBs entirely. I run softish coilovers and since fitting my whiteline ARBs the ride has got quite bumpy, yet the road holding is  [superb!] The ARBs are simply there to stop the car rolling when cornering hard, aiding traction, but as a side effect, having rock hard ARBs will make the ride harsher over bumpy roads. On springs & damper setups this will feel more like a tightening of the handling though, which is why some people fit these before any other suspension mod.

The coilovers don't have anything to stop the car rolling, bar, of course, quite firm springs and dampers. Running harder springs will reduce roll though...

Take the roll bars (even std.) away and you'll find your handling will go to sh1t.

Have to disagree Rich, they are both part of the sprung suspension.
Coilovers do everything to stop roll. Its not clear cut.

I guess the only way you will ever know is if you do some tests, i.e.:-

Car with coilovers and standard ARB's
Car with coilovers and no ARB's
Car with coilovers and uprated ARB's

I can't see the car handling very well without any ARB's though as the coilovers don't have the stability of the ARB's as they aren't connected directly to the chassis like the ARB's are :)

Coilovers do everything to stop roll. Its not clear cut.

They don't do anything to stop the roll any more so than harder springs on std suspension would. I know, Im on Apex 6/4's with std roll bars ;)
Turning the damping up slows the roll rate down, but will not actually reduce the total amount of lean, just how fast it gets there ;)

Too much roll bar can also make the car feel like it jumps sideways when one wheel goes over a hole, they by their very nature make both wheels react when only one wheel might experience the bump.

Its very difficult getting a comfy/sporty road setting that also works well on track, the manufacturers struggle with this and have for ages, so don't be under the illusion that with the addition of a couple of relatively cheap suspension components that you will improve matters across the board

You can focus the car towards handling, or ride! Very rearly achieving results in both. Its all about compromise

Roll Bars control roll, coilovers control the wheels vertical movement :p
