Congrats. How did you find the exams ?

I've just completed the ICND v2 course at Xpertise last week, and thinking of taking the CCNA exam. How do they compare to the Microsoft or Novell exams ?

And how many courses and exams did you have to do ?

Cheers.

I've got my CCNA, CCDA and CCNP now.

The CCDA and CCNA are quite easy, I just read the Sybex books, did a few boson practice exams and passed.

The CCNP was a lot more difficult. Have to do 4 exams each of which are quite nasty....

I've only done the networking essentials Microsoft exam, that was a few years ago - much easier than the ccna.

Well done chap. It gets harder from here.

My only warning is that the Cisco exams get really , really maths intensive from now on. All i can say is get plenty of experience of installations cos i know loads of people who i have personaly seen sit in Early learning ,,,,,,, sorry learning tree course and walked out with qualifications who couldn`t program a switch , router or fooking VCR for that matter.

It does really piss me off when people de-value experience. We recently had a MSCP (early learning) person come for a interview. It was comical , i said can you install an operating system , he said yes. i handed him a disk of W2K and said do it. He looked at me , and looked. then said ok not that one, LOL

The market place is filled with jobs asking for MSCP , CCNP and offering ****e money. Cos places like fooking learning tree offer these ****ing exams with certain passes and the people come out not knowing how to do the job.

I`m not de-valueing what you`ve done. I have done this as well and it is hard work. This is just my views on the current IT work place.!!!!!

b.t.w. can you program me car again new injectors, lol

I know exactly what you mean mate - we just took on a CCNP bloke a while ago. I asked him to just load a config I had written - he had forgotten how to get into config mode... I mean FFS thats just stupid.

I've got about 4 years experience in networks, so I hope I know what Im doing ;)

As for the CCIE, not sure if Ill do it. Very propeller head. Maths won't be a problem - did enough of it at Uni.

If you're after a 444cc injector map, it'll be no prob - email me :)
