Niiiice! ;) Do you need to have a laptop permanently hooked into the car to run that?

no its does basically same thing as a full programmable ecu. hook up laptop, to tune take it away and bobs your uncle.

that board in the pic needs to be soldered in the the stock ecu. ill be doing it tomorrow or tonight and ill post up pics when in done.

interesting stuff you have there mate ...hows that compared to APEXi FC?

few questions if you dont mind me asking:

How much was it delivered?
Are you gonna map it yourself ?

choco
24-01-2007, 19:25
ya im going to map it. it was about 300 euro delivered from oz. it would be the same hing jez does, but your able to map it yourself. it also comes with a very good program. go to bikirom.com look under software, download v3 package and have a look yourself, its very very good.

no bothers. didn't get a chance today to fit it. i was fitting my wideband all day. and after all that my o2 sensor is getting to hot where it is and not giving contant values. the sensor is passed the downpipe. thought it would be fine there, guess not. ill have to wait till saturday.

just waiting on a spare ecu from a guy off the forum. should have it sorted by next weekend. ill take pics and stuff in how to install it. and maybe a vid showing the car running with it. i'm going to tune the boost and lean out part throttle a bit.

and maybe a vid showing the car running with it.
if it runs ...

You have a spare ecu, good for you :)

Don't do the same mistake as me, be sure you have a base map corresponding to YOUR ecu.
I put a 83Fxx converted base file in my 82Fxx, never been able to start the car again, I think I have no spark ...
I just received my converted base file ... I'll go test as soon as it stops raining.

Bikirom is the cheapest way to have a full programmable ecu (and even more with the add on).
Unfortunately, the guy building them is sometimes very busy :(

well why dont you just download your cars stock rom from the ecu. thats what i did. ya ill agree not very good after service. but hey its very very cheap for what you can do. i have a stock rom from my car if you want it. 96 s14 with a s14a type ecu why dont you just move the jumper back and your car will start again

Is there anyone here in the uk (or anywhere else for that matter, witnessed), who actually has one these fully up, running and mapped?
ie working

i did a search there and every result for bikirom was posted by this guy ( http://www.sxoc.com/vbb/member.php?u=10776) so it looks like he's the only one :wack:

Would martin from westward be able to set it up?

choco
25-02-2007, 08:34
ya its a pretty easy gui with the program. the only thing is that its not real time tuning. once you make a change in the map you have to turn off the ign key load up the new map and switch it on again. the power fc is real time. you can change valves in the map in real time with out turning off the ign. theres a lot off things you can do with this. but its DIY. theys even map tracing with it

did you get any manuals with it? do you mind posting it up?

choco
25-02-2007, 13:01
no it doesn't come with one its online. look in there forums and it shows you how to install and so on. its the same way you install jez's board more or less.

well why dont you just download your cars stock rom from the ecu. thats what i did.
I did too.
But you still need to send him the stock rom, so he can convert it and make a loadable file.

Bikisoft uses its own file format, and doesn't understand a rom.
The only thing it can does is import the maps from a rom, but there is some code that it doesn't pick ... obviously, this code had something to do with ignition.

why dont you just move the jumper back and your car will start againCause moderns ecu like s14a and s15 automaticaly read the map from the bikirom, even with the jumper not moved ...
I didn't knew that at the begining, moved the jumper back, still no start, I was scared and thought I broke my ecu.

Anyways, I loaded my base file converted by Lucas, it runs fine now :)

I set the rev limiter to 2500 rpm, and speed limit to 40 km/h ... I'm sure I'm running on the modified map :D

Even with this little lack of service, I don't regret my purchase, there's nothing else that can be compared for this price :)

What sensor do you use?Bosch LSU4?

choco
23-04-2007, 18:41
the sensor,ya thats the one. had it mounted in the exhaust. went over a speed bump and smacked it. ill try and take it off and resolder the wires. see if that works.
